I disagree. People obviously care. I personally would prefer it if he would think before tweeting. On the other hand, I realize that he is an impulsive 20 year old without the life experience to do so.

He has made a number of missteps, particularly on Twitter. I think a lot of his problems will iron themselves out with age and maturity.

Actually, his tweets are probably more intelligent than a typical 20 year olds. And I don't hate that he puts what's on his mind out there. God knows I couldn't wait to get out of CS after a few years there.

I felt the same way...until I had been gone for a while. CS is a nice place with low crime and a fair number of places to hang out. I always enjoy my trips back there.

Hated CS. Have one more semester and can't believe I've taken my college life for granted so much.

Didn't really enjoy my time in CS either, but I still don't feel bad for Manziel. I get that it is a small town and he's mobbed everywhere he goes.

He knows he has 350k+ twitter followers and still decides to tweet something like that. This is the same kid that goes on and whines about how people get him wrong and are making him out to be someone he isn't. He could just make his twitter private if he really has a problem with people dissecting his tweets. But he craves the attention and is the first one to whine when things don't go his way.

I get that he's only 20 but I still expect him to act better than he is acting right now.

Yeah, it's a solid town. For a few days. I have big city running through my veins. If I don't have over 4,000 different mexican restaurant choices I start dying inside. Plus I'm socially liberal and hate college age kids, or men I should say, I can put up with the women just long enough.

TAMU wants his tweets out there. Sumlin doesn't, I can guarantee you that, but TAMU does. And Sumlin doesn't run the show like Saban or Meyer. Maybe he should. TAMU as a whole generally seems to have a tendency to make an ass of itself, Sumlin doesn't. Recruiting advantage aside, I also think Sumlin probably hates the attention Manziel is getting. I remember him making an effort to make it about the team, not about Manziel, almost to a fault. I like that.

Has he made mistakes with social media? Yes. But there isn't a handbook on how to handle overnight success and be a blemish free role model when a year ago, no one but the coaches and those in Kerville knew who Johnny was.

Whats most irritating is all those people who do complain about the way he has acted at times on social media. I mean the kid is posting party pics and videos, aka acting like a college kid, and people are getting upset lol. There hasn't been a kid that has gone through what he's done. Overnight success and youngest to win the Heisman, you haven't gone through what he gone through so please stop acting like you would know how to handle the success lol It is easy to say stay clear from social media, but tht is also building his brand for the future

Yep. Everyone who has spent any time in CS knows that the CSPD are unholy ****wits who are willing to harass anybody about anything. However, I enjoyed my time there, and definitely look fondly back on my college days. However, there is no way in hell I'd ever consider living there outside of college. I love the big city way too much.

JUst one person's perspective of College Station police, as a whole they were the most fair & understanding of any LE agency I've ever interacted with. Granted I received one speeding ticket when I wasn't speeding, but otherwise more than a few times just sent home with a writ of boys will be boys, for all kinds of stuff. Altogether if these incidents happened now in Houston or anywhere else, I'd probably have done some time by now.

Not mad at J.F. at all, and might even be able to understand being antsy to get out of there if I were in his position, but man those were such great years for me in every respect it's just hard to imagine that perspective.

Looking back it's suddenly obvious now- that one time I was innocent, I was probably acting indignant I was so shocked, of course the officer was not going to let me off. Then the serious stuff, I knew my guilt was too obvious, I was contrite. Kind of messed up actually.

He's brought most of the criticism on himself. If he wants to "build his brand" through Twitter, then he needs to be able to deal with the repercussions when people react to his tweets and pics. He says he doesn't care but he sure does act like a whiny baby whenever anybody calls him out.

Kind of difficult to tell him how to act since I didn't have millions of people listening to every single thing I say, waiting to pounce.

VY never had Twitter as a college football player. It launched the year he was drafted into the NFL. His options to not keep it in house were limited.

That was pretty tongue in cheek. I saw Young through burnt Orange glasses as well (but I do think he got crucified a heck of a lot more than he should have had).

My toungue in cheek meter is out for repairs. My apologies.

Vince did get some criticism unfairly. People sometimes forget that these guys are really young. Today it is even worse when you can grab your phone and zap off a tweet in the heat of the moment and it is out there for the world to see.
