It's all about reapeat-ability on shots. If the shooting coach says that is there, that's a great sign.

You don't have to be a great shooter, mechanically, to shoot well. No one would teach their kid a shooting motion like Larry Bird's, but he was a great shooter. The main thing that matters is can you repeat the motion again and again. If you can, you win.

The next step, logically, is to take that supposedly repeatable shot and put it into game situations, so you can become even more used to it and it becomes your default shot. Sounds like that is the plan.

Anyone who watched Jeremy shoot 3's last year, at least in games, could see his shot was not the same one again and again. That's why his misses were so varied (short, left, right, too long, ...). If he can take that element out of his shot, and make it repeatable, then there could be substantial improvement. I mean, he improved a ton last year on his shot and his knee wasn't right until March and I don't think he changed his motion much in-season. So, hopefully he can make a similar jump next year, too.

Agree. His miss shots vary too much for my liking. Also, when he catches the ball, he brings down the ball too low before he brings the ball up to shoot. This doesn't give him enough time to get off the shot. In addition, for various reasons which I am not certain of, he does not cut and get open to take shots.

If there's one person who will work his butt off to improve on his game, it would be Lin.

If he shoots 37 or 38 we will be sitting pretty.

    More realistic 35-36.

Better hope Lin doesn't get too consistent, because he'll probably be a Laker.

If he shoots 78% "in all situations" then anything less than 78% next season is unacceptable.

It's only June. Let's see what his % in practice is this September and we can make a better prediction.

To bad it won't be in the playoffs. He finds himself injured a lot then.

Your sample size is one playoffs. Can't count his time with the Knicks; his knee surgery happened before the playoffs even began.

So Tyson Chandler shoots 120% in practice? :)
