It was posted by a supposed Celtics insider. I don't have the original link; you would have to ask Jocar for that, but don't dismiss it just because it wasn't posted by said insider on this forum. Don't get it twisted, I hate the idea of just dumping Asik because I think he is a great center with sky high value.

Us sending Asik for Pierce so we can buy out Pierce and he goes to the Clippers makes zero sense, especially since something like $5 million of Pierce's contract is guaranteed. It would buy us very little cap space and we'd be giving up our best trade asset outside of Parsons.

Anyone who suggested that trade is not an insider. Trust me.

Somewhat true but in recent history Celtics have not had the consistent success as the Lakers have had in recent years (early 2000s to recently). The Celtics were perennially bad for years before they started making the playoffs again with the Paul Pierce and Antwawn Walker teams. They didn't become championship contenders until they got KG and Allen to team up with Pierce a few years back so it hasn't come that easy for Boston in recent years to contend. Can't take for granted that Boston will be right back in contention soon either.

It was tweeted, and "sources" claimed. Those two things + Woj = money.

Maybe that's how they have to dump T-Rob. According to Woj, there was no market for him.

Then maybe rockets sign josh smith and Dwight outright.

I still think the trade that makes more sense for Boston is Asik/Lin and one of our PFs for Rondo/Lee.

I also report that Les is not purchasing Boston Celtics in the near future.
    I got my sources!

No, Woj says the Rockets won't let him go, not that the Celtics asked. WOJ may have simply been digging around to look for potential replacements. That seems like something he would do as a good journalist. The ROX told him McHale isn't going anywhere and he published it. That doesn't mean either side ever talked or that the Celtics have any interest in McHale.

I don't think that would buy them the space actually, but either way, I PROMISE you this isn't a real insider rumor.

If we send Asik to Boston for Pierce, just to buy Pierce out, we better have Dwight signed already. That would be such a dumbass move to make without a legitimate C already signed.

I don't even care if Dwight gives a verbal agreement to Morey that he will sign here, he has a history of not being able to make up his mind.

wit this said cant we make a 3 way trade. this way rockets can have paul and howard

    Hou in: Paul
Hou Out: Asik, T. Rob, White

Lac In: KG, T.Rob, White, Picks
    Lac Out: Paul, Griffin

    Bos In: Asik, Griffin
    Bos out: KG, Picks

    This way we can have

    Paul / Lin / Beverley
    Harden / Anderson or FA
    Parsons / FA
    Jones / Donuts / Smith
    Howard / Smith

and Bos starts their rebuilding process.

I will be disappointed if we don't come away with Dwight or Griffin. If Dwight is on his way to LAC we better jump in and get involved before someone else does and take those assets off of LAC's hands. Lin, Harden, Parsons, Griffin, Asik is a nice young lineup. If you somehow get Bledsoe too then you are set. Not sure how it could go down. But if Griffin is available and Howard wants to go there we'd better pounce.

If i were the Rockets, I would consider letting Mchale go if he wanted to coach Boston. It doesn't sound horrible with all the coaching candidates still out there. Also, it gives the Rockets a very small chance of hiring Phil Jackson and therefore increasing the likelihood of signing Dwight.

You understand in this scenario, you have the Clippers starting the rebuilding process too?? And they'd be rebuilding with literally jack schitt?
