According to some people on this board, that's just Lebron being lazy and probably missing shots on purpose
Obviously Miami has it worse because they have to win two straight games, especially when you believe (like I do) home court doesn't matter much in this series. The Heat's energy level and poise will determine game 6 and I expect them to win. What Manu did last night won't happen again.
Mario Chalmers' stats in the ECF and the Finals: In 6 wins fg% .490 3pt% .533 Assists 3.33 TO 1.17 ppg. 11.33 In 6 losses fg% .302 3pt% .300 Assists 1.67 TO 1.87 ppg 8.50
two hard fought games are just harder...San Antonio has shown to be able to win on the road...the key is what Miami will do...are they gonna come out with a dominating mentality that they had in game 4 or not... Personally I dont think so...this team has played with the proverbial "on-off switch" too many times...great teams dont do that...the win bc thats what they wanna do...Jordan never let teams see game 7...ever..bc there is always that possibility of an upset...I look for the Spurs to close out on Tuesday..just bc they have been more consistent with their level of effort, intensity and determination...(PS Tony Parker is due for a monster game)
^But hasn't SA been blown out twice in the Finals? I'm not counting Miami out at home especially when Wade and Bosh look like they've found some rhythm.
I don't believe home court matters at all with Miami. It never has. The only thing that will decide this series is if their intensity and motivation is there in the next two games. If they show up, they will win. I predict they show up in game 6 and win by 15-20 points, maybe more and I predict game 7 they will be exhausted and the Spurs take it in 7, like my original prediction in this poll.
How can you not have intensity and motivation in the Finals? This just doesn't make sense. I think the motivation thing is just an excuse every time they don't play well. If they can't be motivated in EVERY game in a Finals series, then there's something wrong with them as competitors and don't deserve to be champions.
LOL.... Anyway, this has been as compelling a Finals matchup as I can remember since the Celtics/Lakers 3 years ago. As others have mentioned, Miami plays better with [cliche] their backs against the wall[/cliche], so I fully expect them to blow the Spurs out in Game 6. Game 7 should be a game for the ages. Can't wait.
agreed so much passion and emotion in that game.. everyone hated the heat so much which has some what died down after they won last year. -the big 3's first year together after they pissed everyone off -the stupid fog/smoke concert intro -the decision -the not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7 championship claim -the look at us we are soo cool attitude -the dwade cockiness and mocking Dirk coughing -dwades world is better place now that the heat are losing -the 9/11 comparison So many reasons to hate the Heat that season and everyone just overlooked Dallas. Those games were awesome because of how Clutch Dirk and Jason Terry were and throw in some awesome defense from Chandler. Definitely one of the best finals in recent memory.
Remember all the talk of Miami possibly going 16-0 in the playoffs? Well, as of right now, they're 14-7. 6-6 in their last 12.
How about this play for game six? As soon as a pass goes to Green at the three point line, the Heat rush at him, and a Spur breaks to the basket, and Green hits them in stride for a lay up or dunk. All night! Or at least until the Heat get gun shy about sending the farm to stop him. Then, start popping the three's. I like it.
Stop saying you expected the Spurs to win... Spoiler San Antonio won game 1 in Miami when no one expected that result to transpire...everyone expected rust, struggles etc, but San Antonio came away with a split at Miami...it isnt unreasonable to think that San Antonio cant replicate their same game 1 success Tuesday or Thursday(Personally, I think it is finished on Tuesday)
