Castro should definitely be our all-star as of right now. Bud would be 2nd and Altuve 3rd. Big drop off after that. Veras would probably be next.
Which ones? The ones that show in his last 13 appearances, he has walked 0 batters and only allowed earned runs in one of them (one other game with an unearned run)? Or that in the same time frame he is 6 for 6 in hold opportunities and 2 for 2 in save opportunities? Also, take away the one bad game in KC when he gave up those 2 runs (on 4 hits) and his WHIP over those games is under 1.00.
Curious, are you liking what you see mechanically from Ambriz? You seem to defend him a fair amount, and I am just curious why.
Batters hit .345 against him in April and are hitting .412 against him in June. Slow down your spin machine.
I knew our starting pitching has been good, but when you look at the numbers its something else. Since May 5 Norris 7 GS 46 IP 3.13 ERA Lyles 8 GS 46.2 IP 3.47 ERA Keuchel 8 GS 49.2 IP 3.99 ERA Harrell 8 GS 45 IP 4.00 ERA Bedard 7 GS 39.2 IP 3.40 ERA Obviously Bedard is gone, but I think we need to make at least 2 rotation spots for Peacock, Cosart and maybe Wojo. So i think regardless they move Harrell or Norris, possibly both.
Bedard staying healthy over the next month would be huggggeeeee. Harrell could use a couple of decent starts to get his numbers lookin nicer. I still think we have to be blown away (Pence-esque) to trade away Bud IMO.
Over the first part of the season, his results were poor. Over the last month or so, his results have been good. I think he is a relatively average reliever. I am not defending him, I am simply defending his results over the past month. Since I am not a professional baseball scout or coach or talent evaluator, I cannot adequately evaluate his mechanics.
And, if you take out the one really bad outing against KC, batters are 8 for 32 against him in his last 12 appearances with 0 walks. One bad game tends to over inflate a reliever's stats.
I think a tip of the cap to Doug Brocail is in order as well. He has obviously done something right to get all of these guys in order in my uneducated opinion.

I feel like all he is worth now is being a throw in as a utility infielder in a trade.
shake my head. just when i thought bud was having an amazing game to increase his trade value this **** happens.
Essentially 4 bleeders and one bomb. Norris should have fielded one and should have caught the throw from Altuve on another.
Not to mention Cedeno should have still fielded the one Bud missed. Same kind of crap happened way too often to Bud last year where a bad defensive play, that wouldn't go down as an error led to a big inning.
