hello all. i came on this site last year and posted a little bit and will try to contribute a little bit more this year. Im from Albany, NY and my hometown team is the Tri City Valleycats. I will try to post some insight for you Houston fans. Also 1 thing i do want to add is the Valleycats currently have Chia Jen Lo with the team. I haven't seen him yet but people i go to games with and went to the Season Ticket Holder Picnic have confirmed he is with Tri City.... I can honestly say im really excited to see how this team does compared to last year. I am really interested in watching Houser and Comer pitch. I want to see Bushue pitch as well but i think his flame blew out a few years ago but hopefully being with Tri City he still has a spark left. Also Andrew Thurman 2nd round pick will sign sometime this week and will be heading to Tri City so thats another guy to watch out for.... As always if u have any questions about Tri City please feel free to ask and i will get you an answer...
Tommy John isn't a death sentence anymore, I can't fault them for taking a chance on him unless they knew about the other injuries too.
Is Chia-Jen Lo hurt again? He dominated in AA back in 2009, then fell of the face of the earth for 2 years. He dominated High A last year and had a great spring, yet he's all the way down in Short Season A Ball again?
If we wanted to I'm pretty sure he could handle the majors right now. I see him going to Quad Cities or Lancaster for a while and then ending the season in Corpus. That's my guess
One guy I'm excited about in Tri-City is Michael Feliz. He dominated the DSL last year and showed some promise at GCL, but struggled at Greeneville late in the year. Supposedly he has a good frame and can run it up to 96 or 97, and he's still just 19.
Sorry, my mistake. He did well at GCL last year - baseball reference doesn't show him pitching in the DSL last year, though I really thought he did.
I like him, Im curious to see how he develops. Random question but didn't he get suspended right after signing for something? I don't know for what, but I for some reason think that he did
Here's an old article from 2010 when we signed Feliz as a 16 year old. After his positive test we got him at the "discounted" price of $400k. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/2010/05/astros-land-two-top-dominican-arms/

Now, you may be wondering who in the world this guy is. Not him. Or him. He made his debut in 2008 with the DSL Rangers and advanced to the Arizona League Rangers one season later. However, he never advanced past the complex leagues during his time with the Arlington organization. He spent the maximum 4 years in the Dominican Summer League, and the Rangers didn't see him as much of a prospect, so they cut him loose. In 2012, Gonzalez was at the Rangers academy. In 64 games, he hit .266/.385/.348 with 1 homer and 35 RBI. He walked 42 times (6 HBP) and struck out 44 times, and was 13-20 on stolen base attempts.
