Lose Griffin for Wonderwoman?

because there's been no real improvement to any part of his game since his rookie year.

If Howard really wants to go to the Clips, is there any way we can snag Griffin and take on DJ's contract so that they can outright sign Howard without sign and trade?

Griffin isn't worth his contract, why would we take on DJ's ****ty contract as well?

It's because this is a rockets forum. Harden probably had the best season he's ever going to have last season assuming he will have another star sharing stats with him. I don't see harden ever improving his defense, but I guess you never know. Blake griffin and james harden are two different types of players. Harden is more polished and, in my opinion, is close to his ceiling if not already there. Blake griffin came in a lot more raw and is probably the best athlete in the league right now. What he has cannot be taught and what he lacks can be with a coach better than vinny del negro. Skies the limit with Blake griffin and lakers would be dumb to pass on sign and trade for Dwight.

If the trade was for the 2009 Dwight Howard, I'd say its a no brainer for clippers, but the jury is still out on whether Dwight will get back to form. Blake griffin is more of an investment opportunity, but there's no guarantee it will pay off. I just think griffin has more upside and they are equal right now. Griffins stats went down this season, but the clippers also had more talent to share the stat pool last season.

If the clippers do end up trying to block us from snagging paul from them and getting howard we could end up working together to screw the lakers out of howard and ending up with blake griffin. But i am sure they could get much more from another team.

Be careful what you ask for. Dwight could be the albatross that takes down a franchise for 4 or 5 years while he sits on a max deal.

Griffin is much more valuable than some people here think. He has elite athleticism, a very good rebounder, great handles for a PF, can finish around the basket extremely well. On top of that he is only 24 and has actually improved upon his skills.

Other than Lebron James, which 2014 free agent would you rather give a 5 year, $95M contract to?

    Yup.

The Griffin hate has gone a little overboard. The "Griffin is so overrated" talk has gotten to the point where Griffin is being a little underrated. Career 20 and 10 after 3 years, and as you said still young with elite athleticism. He can be really good.

    I wouldn't do it.

It's just mind boggling that the Clippers would even consider this. Griffin was brought in to be their franchise. He's already a top 10 clipper of all time (Sad, huh) and to just dump him after such a short time is just insulting.

CP3 and Griffin can work. Model themselves after the Sonics of the 90s.

If they are so high on Bledsoe an people think he's an All-Star in waiting, why do they want to trade him away? I'd figure Bledsoe and Griffin would be the young foundation of that team.

Now they are just after 4 years of greatness. I guess.

The assumption everyone is making (even CP3 let it slip during the season) is the Clippers cannot bring both guys back because Bledsoe will be offered a boatload. So Bledsoe has to go if CP3 stays.

Neither Bledsoe nor Griffin are foundational players IMO. Griffin being hindered by injuries during the playoffs the last couple of years is troubling. His growth from his rookie year also hasn't been what I expected. Even if Howard doesn't return to "2009 form", he is a much more valuable player than Blake will ever be. Forget the Dwight of the first 60 games last year. The final 20 games or so, he was starting to look normal again. As we saw in Orlando, Dwight + a rag tag of soft players can be one the best defensive teams in the NBA. There is a vast chasm between the two guys on that end of the floor.
