Geesh, who would have thunk we'd be contemplating and almost expecting Danny Green to be Finals MVP. Spurs just find and plug in players and keep it moving.
Green probably deserves it but it will probably go to parker. Parkers been with the team forever, plus its kind of crazy to give it to recently signed FA who's been a role player all season, until blowing up in the playoffs.
Green has been the man in the series for sure, but it will probably go to the Spurs player who plays the best in Game 6,if they win.
btw.. list of the NBA Finals MVP in history, I don't think they've ever given it to a role player. This is a pretty ridiculous finals though, I don't think I've seen a role player make this big of a contribution throughout the entire series..so we shall see. http://www.nbauniverse.com/awards/nba_finals_mvps_year.htm
I get that, and that's why i think green deserves it. Still though, parker's the reason why the spurs are in the finals, parkers been playing his ass off this whole season. Green just comes up in the finals and just starts knocking down shots and bam he rewarded the finals mvp? I personally don't think thats gonna happen. Don't get me wrong, greens been a big factor but tony's the reason he even gets to play in the finals and he's probably going to get it.
Danny Green has had some great X-factor performances, but Tim Duncan has been foundation for the Spurs on both sides of the ball.
They should give it to DG. That's would be a perfect ending to the Spurs season and would define what Spurs basketball is all about. When your bench player who was struggling to make a name for himself in the NBA wins NBA Finals MVP, your team philosophy is rock solid.
I can see why people would chose Green but if you analyze the game Green isn't making any layups. All his shots come off open opportunity made by Parker/TD/ and for game 5 Ginobli. If Green was able to create his own shots I would definitely give it to him but he can't. I have no problems with it being Parker or TD.
Yea, that too. I remember Green Blocking at the very least 4 open fast break layups with him guarding 1v1.
