Oh jeez, you win some you lose some. Think about all the good second rounders teams miss out on every year Spilled milk
Because Morey was on the hot seat and he swung for the fences, hoping Morris could become a mismatch SF.
OK to make you feel better, say we took Chandler Parsons with the 14th pick and Marcus Morris with the 2nd round pick that year. Doesn't look bad at all anymore. You win some you lose some. Get over it.
I doubt Leonard would be as good as he is now without playing for the spurs. Pop gets the most out of his players.
Kawhi Leonard may also be a product of the spurs system... He was very raw when he came in the league... but he has a great work ethic... work ethic and potential are very hard to predict... no amount of stats can help that...
WHAT A DISGRACE! IS MOREY ON THE HOTSEAT? TOP5 BLUNDERS OF ALL TIME!!! YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!! TUNE IN 8PM EASTERN FOR ESPN FIRSTTAKE /idiot
we should probably down every single year we could've drafted a better player and make a thread about every one
Here is the thing. Most of us knew kawhi had the best chance of being the best player at that time, but we needed someone who had a higher ceiling. We were begging for a player who could put us one tier higher than finishing in the bottom half of the league. We swung for the fences hoping mook's game would translate well to the nba and he could be a strong bully SF who you could dump the ball down low to and he would score. He was the big 12 player of the year. Turns out he was too slow to guard nba small forwards, and ended up being nothing but an undersized PF who chucked threes. You win some, you lose some, but you live...you live to fight another day.
