Because of the offensive scheme he is bringing with him. If it fails Sumlin's stock will inherently drop. Just like Johnny Football's stock would almost surely be lower if Wilson hadn't first paved the way. 2 years ago Manziel wouldn't hold a candle to Bridgewater in draft projections.

Was it too hard for you to connect those dots before posting a dumbass reply? Or is that just the schtick you're sticking with after all the dumbass, short-sighted posts in the conference realignment thread?

On a side note I think Sumlin has the temperament and approach of what would make for a good NFL coach. He doesn't have the coordinator-type mentality that winds up killing so many NFL head coaches.

Poor little Johnny has it so rough. "Just walk a day in my shoes!"

Little Johnny is probably gone. (But not because of this, whatever may have happened. This only fuels the speculation.)

Nah, College Station police are generally unethical, power-hungry, money grabbing sons of b****es with no souls. A faction of parents had their kids spend all of their money in Bryan as a response to the CS police writing BS tickets all of the time. Bryan police.. those folks are classy.

I think you may be reading too much into a late night post made by a 20 year old kid.

Was his post an overreaction by him? Yes. Is it a window into his character? Probably not.

I'm currently a student at TAMU and i work at a restaurant he frequents.

Definitely a prima donna who tries to "subtly" hint at you that he deserves special treatment so that kinda ruined my first and later experiences with him. It's great what he's done for my school but a little humility wouldn't hurt.

    Gig 'em anyhow

Yeah, he seems like a dick. Probably needs a good ass kicking. I like that he doesn't give a **** about certain things but other times I'm embarrassed for him.

I'm not reading into anything. I was pretty clear. I admitted I don't know the guy, but that this comment makes him come off like an ungrateful ass. I stand by that. I have no idea if that's what he is....but that's certainly what the comment makes him sound like.

I hear you. Wen I read some of what he posts, I try to imagine what I would have been like at 20 with that kind of talent and overnight celebrity.

Frankly, I would have been absolutely insufferable.

There've been other college aged kids with lots of success who haven't come off like that. It's not universal.

Success, yes. I cannot think of another 20 year old who went from nobody to enormous star, savior of the program, freshman Heisman trophy winner all within a year. I have never seen a college kid be pursued by all the major late night talk shows.

I'm not saying it is an excuse. I am saying that because of his overnight celebrity, everything he says is under a microscope more than even most college football players.

If his post was due to frustration with the CSPD, I understand it even more. That department was unduly aggressive 20 years ago. I have been told that they haven't gotten better with age.

Yeah, anyone that has ever dealt with them would agree. Had a friend have his entire car searched once because the cop smelled weed. Saw a bicycle cop ride into a house during a party once - that's not even legal. Heard about a young lady strip searched by a female officer while male officers watched. Those are just 3 of the first things that came to mind. There are countless horror stories.

CSPD is terrible and Manziel is probably a douche.

Austin police are way worse. Sergio Kindle drove his car through a house and they were all out hassling him and giving him a pretty stiff warning.

I think one thing that makes it so hard for the kid is that he is just sitting on millions of dollars in sponsorships and merchandise sales that he can't touch until he leaves. I would think about that everyday and anyone who things he doesn't is naive.

Tweets like this are going to happen. It's dangerous to have an outlet that lends itself so much to whims and impulses. No one will care as long as he plays well.
