I am not saying Afflalo is bad. Sold role player! But those types of swingmen are dime a dozen in the NBA. Easiest position to fill. To me Bledsoe would be worth a lot more.

Pierce might get bought now and move to join Doc on his own.

If Griffin/Bledsoe is really on offer for DHoHo then that is really going to hamper the Rockets chances.

How could even Jimmie say NO to that?

Afflalo isn't close to being an All-Star but he would fit quite nicely next to CP3 as their starting SG. This way they don't lose Bledsoe for nothing. Courtney Lee would be a very poor starting SG. Afflalo is much better than him.

I agree with Bill Simmons that Doc can't go back to Boston now. Something will get done.

Agreed Jimmy can't say no to that. But what Jimmy wants isn't really relevant, nor is what Donald Sterling wants. It's what Dwight wants that matters. If Dwight prefers Houston or any other team with cap space to sign him outright, Jimmy is out of luck even of both LAL and LAC are willing to make that Griffin-Dwight trade.

So, what I would worry about isn't Jimmy saying yes to a sign and trade or Sterling willing to part with Griffin, it's making Houston a more desirable situation than the Clippers to Dwight Howard.

Do you think they are worth 100 million for one season? That is what they will cost the Lakers if they did a sign and trade in salary and luxury tax for this coming season. It will also get worse if they resign Gasol and Kobe after this coming season because of the repeater tax comes into effect. It would also pretty much take them out of the FA sweepstakes next year unless Kobe decides to retire or take the minimum.

Frankly, I think the Clippers now are roughly where the Nets were a year ago. They are hoping to land Dwight but their real priority is doing whatever it takes to keep their existing star PG-- Chris Paul for the Clips and Deron Williams for the Nets-- who doesn't want to come back without getting some additonal help whether in the form of Dwight or anything else.

Thus, we are hearing about the Boston guys, and about Afflalo and Danny Granger. Afflalo and Granger are basically this year's version of Joe Johnson-- the fallback option to convince their star to stay if they can't get Dwight.

For a S&T to work the trade would need to leave the Lakers under the apron which is projected to be 75.6 million. They'd also be hard capped at that figure I think.

They don't actually unless they are receiving the free agent in the S&T.

How do you come up with $100M for one season?

But still, Rondo's value is very high when healthy, theres no disadvantage for Boston to just wait until he's healthy to trade him if the price isn't right now.

Guy is a pure playmaker. Off the charts athleticism (as good as Westbrook). Solid passer, good instincts, can score, can shoot, great defender, insane wingspan (6'7").

He still turns the ball over a lot but give him starting minutes and he's a top 15 point guard in the NBA.

If this doesn't go through could Brooklyn pick up Dwight or no?
