Clippers are stupid to have turned that down. They immediately fill all of the holes in their lineup. Eric Bledsoe is worth that.

And Ainge laughs and hangs up the phone on you.

Boston can do way better. When healthy Rondo is a top 20 guy in the league. He doesn't get sold for pennies on the dollar. He gets sold for a premium price.

If Rondo is traded its for something juicy like Greg Monroe, Cousins, or Horford. Or its for multiple draft picks and a few young players.

Rondo is very important to the Celtics and he won't go cheaply.

If this trade happens, Atlanta will probably be out of the race

If I'm the Clips, I wouldn't give up Bledsoe & a future first. That's way too much for Garnett.

Supposedly, according to sources, doc rivers wants the clippers to keep Bledsoe. Also, word is that clippers will need to keep Bledsoe to trade with Blake griffin for Dwight Howard. Personally think lakers get better of the deal if they get Blake griffin out of all of this. They just move gasol to center.

Per Ramona shelbourne from espn, the clippers can just hold out, wait for Paul pierce to get bought out and sign him for mle. Then Garnett and doc rivers are in last man standing mode. Rivers goes to broadcasting and Garnett demands a trade to clippers or he retires. At that point, clippers can call the shots if celtics wants something for Garnett.

You are are right he may, but I still make the offer. Cheeks and Dumars going to want to keep youngsters together (but could still do that deal). Sac could be a real play, Atl I can't see because he needs to be paired with other talent. You take Horford away and who does he have to pass to. That would be a very unhappy rondo!

Rondo is coming of injury so you got to low ball him.

If the clippers complete all the trades that espn is reporting, they will be rolling out this lineup:

    Pg: cp3
    Sg: Jamal Crawford
    Sf: Paul pierce
    Pf: Kevin Garnett
    C: Dwight Howard

And my clippers season tickets will still be worth half of what lakers tickets go for. Although, in the eleventh hour, Howard will probably take one more tour of the trophy room and stay on lakers. In which case, clippers would look like this:

    Pg: cp3
    Sg: Danny granger (traded Bledsoe)
    Sf: Paul pierce
    Pf: Blake griffin
    C: kevin Garnett

Do you guys think this team can compete? This has lakers 2012 season written all over it with potential injury curse.

The problem with the trade is that DeAndre is a salary match and Bledsoe and the pick is what Boston actually want, they'd rather let KG retire than take just DeAndre and a pick.

That's what I would think too, but Ramona shelbourne tweeted that the target the celtics want first and foremost is deandre Jordan. Supposedly, many league execs think deandre is very talented and the clippers never let him play through his mistakes. Clippers and celtics are both bluffing right now and Lionel hollins delayed his interview with Denver next week.

I hate deandre, but he is a very athletic 7 footer. If properly coached, he has a high ceiling.

Actually, if you think about it, the celtics don't need Eric Bledsoe. They already have rondo and Avery Bradley.

Clippers were offering Jordan and a first rounder.

Celtics wanted Bledsoe and another pick in addition. LAC felt that was too much.

would've been nice for both teams I think.
    CP3
    Butler
    Pierce
    Griffin
    Garnett

    6th man - Crawford
    Is a contending squad

    Rondo
    Bradley
    Green
    Sullinger
    Jordan

    6th man - Bledsoe
    Is a nice young team.

i think they intend to move rondo and go into tank mode.

There's a general rule of thumb in the nba : at any one time, there are about 10 teams trying to lose

That "they think Jordan isn't being used properly" sounds like it's coming from the Clippers to try and increase his trade value. It makes no sense for a team to say they think someone who they might be trading for is better than he is. (If you want my stuff I act like my stuff is awesome, and you act like my stuff is crap, and we go from there), it also doesn't make a lot of sense for that to be used for someone with 5 years experience.

Jordan did develop a little hook shot that Del Negro went completely away from to go into complete iso mode and save me chris paul mode.

That guy is done as a coach thank goodness

If the clippers make the griffin for Howard swap, it would be like some phd project examining human emotions of sports fans. I mean, not that I believe there's a real rivalry between lakers and clippers, but last season there was a definite split in the la basketball fanbase. Laker fans absolutely hated Blake griffin last year. To have them switch places would be pretty hilarious. Clipper top buzz posters are totally up in arms about the thought of swapping Blake for d12.

My personal opinion of what went down today was that Kevin Garnett had a BBQ at his house in Malibu, invited cp3, Paul pierce, doc rivers, Blake griffin, and Dwight Howard over. They smoked out and started texting Chris Broussard and Ramona shelbourne to see how quickly things could get on espn.

Actually, when the season started and the clippers went on that run in December, I thought deandre totally improved his post game big time. But like you said, they either didn't go to it, or deandre lost his focus. Whatever happened, we had a guy sitting on the bench in the 4th quarter making $10 mil for the season.

Based on the info, it would seem that the teams' offers are fairly wide apart. However, the question is how willing is each team to a possible compromise. I remember that, after the Harden trade was completed, it was reported (by Jonathan Feigan, I think) that, in addition to what OKC received, OKC asked for Parsons and an additional 1st round pick. So, it's not inconceivable that the teams reach a settlement (maybe Jordan plus 2 1st rounders but no Bledsoe, or Jordan+Bledsoe+1 1st rounder), particularly considering that we are still awhile away from the draft and the start of free agency and NBA trades often get done in the 11th hour.

Anyhow, if the Clippers land KG, Doc, plus maybe Pierce, the whole Griffin for Howard S&T would make a whole lot of sense for the Clippers, Howard, and the Lakers. However, there are factors that could still blow this up.

For the Clippers, Dwight would be a huge upgrade over the very good and very popular Griffin on the defensive end. Even though Griffin is younger, if you get CP, KG plus maybe Pierce, you have to be in a "win now" mode with the mileage on these guys and it's not like Dwight is on his last legs. Sterling is said to be enamored with Griffin and don't want to give him up, but what if getting Dwight is what it takes to keep Chris Paul from fleeing?

For Dwight, you really can't ask for a better situation than CP, KG, Doc and Pierce for the purpose of winning within the next couple of years. There are questions, however. Will Dwight worry about how good and how healthy the aging KG and Pierce will be after watching Steve Nash go from very good to washed-up looking in the course of one off-season? If Kobe is too intense for Dwight, would having CP and KG as teammates be what Dwight wants?

For the Lakers, I keep on hearing that they'd rather let Dwight go for nothing vs. taking back salaries that would cut into their 2014 cap room, but do they really value a possible run at a 2014 free agent over Griffin? Besides Lebron (who is likely a long shot even if the Lakers are in a desirable market), how many of these free agents are better than Griffin?

You know they even show the video of the lottery balls these days?

Next years draft though, Wiggins may be the Lebron of the draft, but Parker is the Melo (with much better attitude) of it. Couple others are all star caliber, such as Randle, draft will be completely loaded until about spot 6.
