I watched the longest modern era NHL game back in 2000 when they Flyers beat the Penguins 2-1 in 5 OT. I thought I was going to see the longest Finals game but this fell a few minutes short.
Crazy game. Really exhausted. Once the 3rd OT started, I just wanted the game to end. Boston outplayed the Hawks in the 1st period, 1st OT and 2nd OT. Thank god game 2 is on Saturday and not Friday.
After an AWESOME game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on NBC, anyone care to guess which channel will be showing Game 2? Has to be the basic NBC channel right? After all it's summer and network shows are on repeat. NO. Game 2, NBCSN. What's on NBC tonight you ask? Re-runs of "Chicago Fire", "Law and Order SVU" and "SNL". SMDH at Bettman, the NHL and NBC.
Yep. It's pretty stupid. They keep shooting themselves in the foot. Game 3 is on NBCSN as well because of The Voice finalists on Monday.

That turnover hurts. The pass & shot were both fantastic, though. I don't have a horse in this race but I have to admit it would be fancy to see Jagr win a cup after so many years between.
Quenneville really made a mistake in playing bolling in this series over Stalberg (and I'm not just referring to that turnover but speaking of Bollig's play in general). Even if Stalberg is invisible out there, he's not nearly as bad of a player as Bollig is. Also, I'm expecting the 1st line to have Toews and Kane together again because neither of them are effective otherwise and the Hawks will need at least one of them if they want to win this series. I believe the Hawks have to win 1 of the next 2 or I think Boston will close it out in 5 or 6.
