The President doesn't agree with you and neither do I. There was nothing wrong or disrespectful about what
this young man did or wore when he sang the National Anthem. The fact that he chose to wear the Mariachi
outfit to represent his Mexican heritage only strengthens the GREATNESS OF THE USA! This country truly is a
melting pot where people from all over the world have come to call home! He did not abandon his heritage
but instead chose to use his heritage to bring homage to the American Flag!!!

He sang the Anthem with respect and dignity which is what's most important!!!

Personally, i don't care, but i knew it would raise eyebrows. Technically, it's not the same thing, as dressing as Uncle Sam though, since the kid is the "golden mariachi" so it makes total sense for him to be in character. Otherwise, he's just another kid singing the anthem. I have to believe the people behind the scenes knew it would tick some people off, but they just underestimated the power of social media nowadays.

Maybe he should have opened with this :p

    <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1qdr-6w0hpg?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1qdr-6w0hpg?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

He wasn't trying to represent Mexican heritage. He was dressed as what he is. What his profession and identity is. I don't think he makes the connection to Mexican culture. He's just an American kid who loves singing/being a mariachi.

Wait he was wearing a 'mariachi outfit'? I thought he was wearing one of those old uniforms they made waiters wear at Monterey House.
