No other team in the world can beat the NBA champions, it's the best, most competitive league in the world, we have players from all over the world, so YES the NBA champ are the WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Those are countries, Spain's best players play in the NBA, cant compare nations with teams/clubs from a "x" country. So that's irrelevant. Skill level of a NBA champ is 10 x higher than any other team outside the USA (team/club, not a nation/country) therefore luck wouldn't play any part of it.

cjtaylorpt still confuses "best" with the fact of a world tournament. Having the best players from the world does not make you a world league.

Soccer teams in European leagues have plenty of international players. Players go where the money goes. But those leagues never claim to be a world league. They are national leagues with foreign players, just like the NBA.

Soccer does have several world tournaments, or partial world tournaments. the problem with basketball is that the NBA is still far above everywhere else in terms of talent. But saying that because the NBA has the best players in the world so its championship is a world championship is a confusion of terminology.

Soccer cant be compared, its totally different subject. Like you have said, NBA is still far above everybody else. Europeans have 4 major soccer leagues, even tho England's Premier league is considered "the best" by many, European cup/ Champions league has been dominated by Spaniards (Barcelona) for few years n this year by the Germans (all German final). Where in the worlds basketball team tournament that won't be the case, it'll be dominated by every NBA champion. It's like putting Manchester United/Barcelona/Real Madrid/ Bayern Munich in a tournament against teams from like San Marino, Luxemburg, Liechtenstein, Malta etc. That's how big of a difference it is, talent wise.

The term "world champions" is lame. I always say "champions of the universe"
