Not permanent, you go like LinBev Harden/Iggy Parsons/Iggy Asik/Parsons Howard/Asik Small rotation like McHale likes. Everybody gets starter minutes.
That's the thing, Morey never really said WHAT he was doing. So everything coming out even the Paul/Howard targeting is all just speculation to this point, based on "multiple sources". Who knows, still have a few more weeks till free agency when we all find out.
Typical Morey. We are after everybody and nobody at the same time. Other than pursuing Howard and CP3, the rest is just fodder for the media. It's just as likely that WE leaked this to try to get JSmith to take a lower offer.
I'd think the Nuggets firing of Karl has something to do with this: http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_23454878/george-karl-fires-back-at-josh-kroenke-nuggets. It sounds like the team was very close to to coaching staff. When your owner fires the Coach of the Year and blows up a coaching staff who won 57 games and came in 3rd in the WC, all because he didn't play JaVale McGee enough, heck, would you stay around?
Sounds like speculation to me... Could be true though. Clearly, Morey wants a big three, not a big two. DH, Iggy, and Harden isn't bad at all.
I can only see this as if we get Dwight, Iggy would be the 3rd of the big 3. I still don't like it though. Not high on him, especially when we have Parsons
Morey has a plan more circuitous than that of the Robot Devil in The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings.
the kind of player you would love to have if you drafted him(rudy gay), but not a guy you want when hes making the big bucks.
Not related to RL, but in my MyPlayer mode on NBA2K13, I got drafted by rockets, and before the trade deadline they traded James Harden for Andre Iguodala.
Actually, as a fall back option to Howard and Paul, it makes sense. Iguodala can both guard the opposing team's best scorer, yet also be a facilitator on offense. He can also rebound decently well, so you could play a small run and gun lineup in Lin, Harden, Iggy, Parsons and Asik, or go big and sit Lin.
Pass. Parsons is younger and is already giving us what is needed at that position. Plus, he hasn't reached his ceiling. Not a good move, imo.
Iguodala isn't better than Parsons and will likely cost ten times as much. And he's turning 30 next season. If we strike out on Dwight and CP3, I'd rather not sign anyone at all than sign Iguodala.
You're buggin! Iggy is more hype than anything.... 13.0 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 5.4 APG is NOT star numbers and certainly not worth benching Parsons. Parsons is a better player right now, today. CP3 is bonified star material and worth every penny. Iggy is no where near worth the money he'll be asking for. Just 'cause he can dunk doesn't mean he's worth the money or would be a good fit on this team. He is ridiculously over-hyped.
Cheaper? Lin is getting paid 10 million per over the next 2 years with 8.3 against the cap. I think would could get Iggy for 10 million per. If Iggy could play the 1 next to Harden, that would be an amazing back court of Iggy Harden Parsons
