Yup he is signed, on his twitter profile he has a picture of the new Astros logo, and it also says "Baseball - Houston Astro". I wonder for how much. Also do you think we sign guys like German and Nicely?

He's actually had that up since Monday. I figured that he had signed or had been close to signing.

If the Astros didn't like their chances of signing Nicely, they wouldn't have taken him in the 1st 10 rounds. I also hope they can scrounge $280K together to entice German.

Oh I did not know about that. That's a good point. I guess it all really depends on how much we save (if any) from Appel.

Sign the other nine picks and leverage as take our slot offer or sit out a year

If memory serves me right, nothing's going to start with Appel until after he walks and gets his diploma. Which I believe happens Monday.

Yep (what a late graduation Stanford has). Similarly we need UNC eliminated from the CWS.

I would have assumed Gregory would sign for under slot considering he's done nothing in his regular season college career.

Hoping Tony Kemp signed for under slot then...

Really surprised Jason Martin signed for so little. Typical HS contracts include a clause where the team will pay for 4 years of college if the athlete ever goes back to attend, so might as well get your career started, get college paid for, and make a little money on the side.

His name is Gregor. He's done a lot. Not many players have a career .444 OBP. He just hasn't shown power in his collegiate career, only in the Cape Cod League.

Tony Kemp referred to it as a lot of money, and the slot is only $300-something K, so doubtful.

It probably is overslot, but 300K could be a lot of money for him

It could be. I just doubt it is under slot. I figure between slot and $500k (I'm guessing closer to slot, but that is just a guess).

Keep in mind they have almost $600k they can go over, so signing a guy like German is doable even without savings.

We better get Austin Nicely. I'd imagine his number is at least $750k to give up going to UVa. Would really like to see Appel sign for $6.7M or so.
