I feel like if we acquire Granger it will be for Lin/T-Rob/Delfino.

I feel like a lot of posters confuse negotiations with verbal agreements or 'deals.' A contract, legally speaking, is different from negotiating about a contract. I hope you guys realize the difference. Certain things have to be met before something is a binding contract, but yes, oral agreements ARE generally binding. It is confusing when these terms are all just thrown together and used willy nilly.

I agree. I just dont see us trading for Granger straight up without Indy willing to take Asik, robinson, white (+3 million) and a second. They are too deep at every position and i only see them wanting a really good PG or wing (preferably a SG) in return.

I guess we can sell them on the go big with asik and hibbert or west and asik against miami and kill them on the boards/clog up the lanes.

Why couldn't we just send LAL Lin and Trob and Asik in the SnT for Dwight? Even if a SnT were planned? Instead of collecting 1 yr expirings or non-guaranteeds? That way we can just sign CP3 outright, which I assume would be the endgame/point of SnTing for Dwight in the first place (vs. signing him outright). Or else simply moving TRob and waiving White would be SO much simpler.

No it won't. Pacers have no need for Lin and Robinson.

Plan C after Howard and Smith sure. I doubt we'd go for Paul before landing Howard. I'm sure Granger can play at the 4 and be more of a stretch 4ish. Lame idea but could benefit the team since he is an expiring contract if we get him for a good deal.

Plain and simple this is hardcore bull****. Doesn't follow Morey's M.O. at all

Remember a few weeks ago when Moreg said they would at the very least use their capspace for a one year deal to keep their flexibility if their #1 targets don't fall.... Here is option B or C .... However you view it.

Still even if they have interest there is no guarantees Indiana will be interested in what Morey has to offer.

However this speculation will hopefully be a moot point if the Rox get who they really want... Dwight that is.

This is just Morey doing his due diligence to ensure they will be able to bring in someone to help this team take a step forward next season. I think Granger would def fit the mold of this team if brought in on a value trade. I have no doubt that Morey has contacted Indiana yet again about Grangers availability later this Summer.

Speculation aside, the two things that come to mind when adressing Indiana needs are Backup point guard and front court depth.

The Rockets would definitely not offer anything of value for Granger, besides picking up his salary. The Pacers would only do this if they can sign someone in FA with the money they save. So if there is a significant FA that like the Pacers and vice versa, and the Rockets strike out on Howard, then I can see this deal go through.

Don't we already have CP, the guy needs the ball in his hands and I don't think he could be a factor in our future.

There's nothing legit about Sam Amico, perhaps you are mistaking him with Sam Amick

If we strike out on our FA options, then I don't know whether we should pick up Granger. He doesn't affect our cap for next year. It gives us someone who we can assume plays the 6th man role, and if he excels at that then you have a really hot commodity, one which you can choose to keep if you wish (bird rights).

To be honest, I'm weary of having Granger on the floor at the same time as Harden. Neither of them can defend, and both of them excel when the ball goes through them.

I can't see Les paying a guy $14m for one season, if that guy doesn't significantly improve the team. When we have Parsons and Harden, how many minutes is Granger going to play?

Where Les may be able to see his value is if the guy has a stellar first half of the season, and his value would be incredible at the trading deadline.

If Les is willing to take on his salary, then I don't see the harm of putting him on the bench and seeing where that leads him.

Indiana need an actual pg, George was forced to create their offense because Hill is just an undersized sg, but i don't know if Lin is that guy.

A healthy Danny Granger does significantly improve this team.

so trying to just read this thread and catch up...I saw we may be interested in Granger if we miss out on Howard...and then somewhere it turned into acquiring Granger then SNT for howard?

Was there any reports of this or just someone pulled this out of their butt?
