    Carl, listen to me.

It's not your fault, it's not your fault, it's not your fault.

You assume Howard said he's interested. I can see him going, Yeah, that's a good organization. Which it is. Very much so.

But if it's a fall in glamour from L.A. to Houston, San Antonio is that much more so. I'm not trying to slam it, but for a major U.S. city it feels very removed. NBA journalists remark how it's tougher to get flights there. (A tourist mecca, yes, but not much major industry and a relatively lower-income market.)

The Spurs have major decisions to make in Splitter, Manu, and Neal. They're having success with their current way of doing things. I don't see Pop coaching Big-Ass Goofball for the next two years.

This is just Howard's agent using the desperate writers at hoopsworld. The Spurs might want to make a pitch but when they get a feeling Howard's heart isn't into them, Pop'll say, Don't worry, too much of a headache anyway.

Whereas Morey will be flipping up Houston's skirt the whole time: We're desperate but we don't want to look desperate! WHEEE!

Yes, but Steve Kyler is the head honcho over at Hoopsworld.

I doubt it would happen. Especially after various Rockets players spend all summer courting Dwight.

Complex SnT indeed. No way LAL wants ANYTHING to do w/ that crap. They don't want to destroy their 2014 flexibility for players on the decline (w/ massive contracts). You'd need a 3rd or 4th team w/ LAL getting some nice young talent or expiring decent talent, in which case, can they really beat a deal of TRob + Lin + Asik? Dwight would have to REALLY not want to come to HTown, in which case he probably shouldn't come...

Definitely not a straight up SnT w/ LAL and BKN. They won't move DW or else it destroys the reason why Dwight might want to even go. GW is worth nothing. JJ is worth less than that at his contract price. Are the Nets really going to get nice young talent for a Brook Lopez? That LAL would want? If Dwight threatens walking to HTown for free, Morey can just say, hold on, we'll give you Asik and TRob and Lin keke for Howard if he wants to come here :p

So you think Rockets players have been the only NBA players Howard has been talking to...? Ha...

If you're willing to believe Steve Kyler, you may as well start a new thread for every anonymous tweeter with three followers. The guy is a certified troll, people.

The more news i hear about Howard, the less i want him on the team. All of this looks and sounds familiar.

    THIS ISN'T NEWS.

Anyone can tweet whatever they want. I can say I have an inside source telling me Howard will be signing with the Charlotte Bobcats for the league minimum. Doesn't mean there's any accuracy whatsoever in it.

Why would DH12 want to play for the Nets when Jason Kidd is now their new coach? I mean Kidd was a very nice player, but he is TOTALLY unproven as a coach. Why would DH12 want to take a risk that big in his prime?

No, but apparently him and Harden have been talking a lot. I think that those two would be part of the same circle of buddies.

Aelliott did the math on this in another thread...essentially Nets would have to send out $16M+ BEFORE doing a SnT for Dwight and then in the SnT must send out another $16M+. Uhhh...that ain't happening w/ their contracts/players.

    at least we hope not.

    Never
underestimate the stupidity of NBA franchises....

Well since the Nets are one of these teams that do stupid things every year I doubt they get it done. The sad thing is if they were to free up space Dwight would go running there despite their history and inability to really do much but **** up their team over and over again.

Doesn't a Hoops Poop post warrant automatic removal of all of your rep?

    If not, It should!

It would not be shocking, either, for the Spurs to be interested in Howard. They have cap room and he is clearly worthy of the cap room. Howard might have acted goofy, but he's done pretty damn well with another hard-driving coach, Stan Van Gudy and they got to the NBA Finals.

Howard, on the other hand, has ever reason to at least consider San Antonio at this early point. They have cap room to sign him outright. They have a talented roster. They also have a front office that knows how to find talent without high draft picks. SA is not a big market, but after his experience as a Laker, Howard might consider that he didn't have it so bad back in small market Orlando. Also, for all the fanboys here talking big about the "no state income tax," let's not forget that San Antonio is in the same state. Besides, Howard has been haunted by the Shaq comparison all these years. What better way to distinguish himself from Shaq than to go to one of the biggest Shaq/Lakers rivals?
