He has a preference, based on legitimate criticisms, for the Sony systems. As do I. Just as there are posters in our collection of gaming threads here that have a preference for the XBone without being "biased" (JunkyardDwg, Bear_Bryant, for example). Hilarious that you bust out the "durr durr he's paid by Sony durr durr" comment in response to a post criticizing an extra pay-gate to access Netflix. Really? That's your line in the sand? The way i see it the so call "enhancements" of the Xbox only serve to siphon more money into microsoft. Seriously after Sim City does anyone believe the bull**** of "cloud computing to enhance gaming?" The damn thing has 8 gigs of ram it better run any game without the ****ing cloud.
Well, in regards to the media stuff... XBone has deals with HBO GO, ESPN, and the NFL...you can integrate your cable television into it (which, if done intelligently, could be developed into something great)...the kinect thing could be a gimmick or it could be a game changer, either way, the Eye cant compete...the fantasy football thing is a big part of American culture (May not apply to you, but it will apply to many, many people)...skyping with a group (can be a good time when gaming against each other or watching a football game)...sharing games with people through the cloud...etc... The XBone is much more future proof than the PS4.
lol. I'll probably stick to Xbox for the SOLE reason that most of my real friends do, and I enjoy the social aspect. Can't say I'm thrilled with anything when it's compared to the Play Station side by side, although I am a fan of the Halo franchise (minus Halo 4).
You're clearly not understanding the possibilities of integration into cable. It's not just watching tv...it's expanding on that. Like split screen with a video game....having friends join you on skype while watching tv. Its up to the developers to make things possible. Whether they do well with it or not, at least XBone has the potential of doing something that the PS cant do until PS5. I like potential. And even without that potential, its not like the XBone is a useless machine.
If that's what they're trying to do, it's truly mindboggling. PS4 is still going to offer things that capture the "normal" living room environment: Blu-Ray player, access to regular multimedia services like Netflix and Amazon etc., without having to pay for online access. If I am a normal consumer who wants to watch football and check my fantasy scores, am I going to pay the extra $100 to watch it on my cable box or drop $499 for the XBone? At the end of the day, the XBone and the PS4 are fundamentally gaming devices in the eyes of the average market consumer. People didn't buy PS3's as blu-ray players, and they're not going to buy XBone's as glorified cable boxes. One system understands what it is and is capitalizing on it, and one isn't. Also, this isn't just a direct trade off. It's not like the PS4 has NO multimedia features. It is MUCH better suited to be an entertainment system for the casual consumer: cheaper out of the box, able to access multimedia services with no subscription, and it actually DOES have a pretty substantial interactive feature base with the profiles and share features showcased at E3. The MS fanboys are fighting a losing battle. I think MS will be able to recover from it if they make some good decisions, but as of now, the PS4 is dominating because it realizes what comparative advantage it has: gaming.
None of that stuff has to do with gaming except Kinect. Which I've said in other threads it could be a game changer. Will it happen? Who knows, all it takes is one developer to make a true blockbuster gaming experience with the Kinect...but seeing how motion gaming has gone the past few years it's hard to see. I don't think gamers are going to care about the media stuff in the end, as they usually don't. With all that you mentioned go to any gaming site and see what they are saying about who won the night at E3. That stuff is 'Bonus' extra stuff. "Oh cool, this thing gives me fantasy updates." of course there are people that love all this stuff...but the gamers will buy these systems for gaming, all the other stuff is extra. If you look at the polls and general consensus stuff, Xbox is still way behind because I think it's clear that gamers don't really care about that stuff. Yes I know the customers that do are not voting on those polls...but still, to see a 80-20 poll in Sony's advantage should be troubling for microsoft.
Isnt that personal preference on what games you like and dont like? XBone has the edge in exclusives. If you're talking about the used game market...well, PS4 said its up to the publishers in regards to that. My guess is that the PS4 will eventually follow XBone's footsteps in that regard. So no, I wouldnt say the PS4 is dominating gaming...I can definitely see that it could have an edge. I can also see the XBone being right there. I personally like the XBone exclusives more right now. That could change down the line, but thats not the case for now.

Because PS4 is fing next gen console that does nothing more than Xbox 360 other than freaking graphics.... And the = is because the Xbox 360 has better value... Is a lot cheaper and has a giant library of indie live games, exclusives, and multi platform games.... Xbox 360 does the same damn thing PS4 is doing but yeah the graphics right.... Because gamers have always argued they want great innovative games and not graphics..... Now all of a sudden the specs on the damn consoles do count right? LOL seriously just stop...... Now lets move on to One vs Ps4........ What does One do that Ps4 does not. Not one single freaking thing....... What does Microsoft do over Sony? Every single thing to bring next gen to life.... Forget every single damn thing Xbox One has shown. Now think about how freaking crazy it is what Microsoft did there... What else are they going to do in the span of the next 8 years.... What console has more life to it? More potential? Or do yall really think Sony will out class a freaking OS software based company? What does Xbox One do over PS4? Well I don't know? Things that allow a video chat while playing a game with a friend, things that don't run off a disc but a cloud system without limitations, things that interact with your voice, eyes and movements, things that allows you to save a trip down the street for a game but that instead offers it on the day of release with no wait times or loss of sleep.... NO! this is not just downloading games off Live or PSN.... It is way different and if you cant see why then you are just simply stupid..... What else? Things like allowing you to watch live Tv and play a game at the same without it missing a beat.... The 8 gigs are not there for the fing games? Do you know what ram even does? The on the One is there because the console was actually built to do multiple things at the same time. Do you even own a computer? What is the difference between loading a program or file from a "Disk Hard Drive" and Solid State Hard Drive? One is way way faster than the other... Cloud is there for extremely fast load times of files that are going to be huge..... Because as they already said, games will continue to grow....... NO PS4 is not better than Xbox One...... You want the truth thou? The truth is yall hate Xbox because they are actually standing by what they feel will make for a better experience. So justify the PS4's price, game trading..... Say all you want that its a better console because of so and so.... But that's bs yall know it. But w/e, buy the PS4... That bolded part of your post made me smile. Those are indeed legitimate features a lot of people may care about... but for myself, cable integration is totally useless because I never plan to get cable, seems like such a rip price-wise (pretty sure a sizable minority would agree on that, at least). As for split-screen, don't need that either. I simply have two HDTVs side-by-side so I can watch shows while playing games. :grin:
So the launch titles of exclusives could at BEST be described as a draw. Moreover, Sony has a history of better IPs and studios developing exclusives (Naughty Dog, Quantam Dreams etc.). Moreover, unlike the 360/PS3 thing, where the 360 was much more developer friendly, the PS4 is MUCH more developer friendly this time around by all accounts. Also, the hardware is souped up on the PS4. MS might want to reconsider dedicating 3GB of RAM to it's "entertainment center" OS.
