Exactly . . . the down side is a lot of player's careers are trashed because they went to the wrong team or wrong coach or wrong system Rocket River
Many of you will get Trevor Ariza-ed if you think Kawhi is going to break out and be something other than a GREAT 4th option for the Spurs.

thats a terrible comparison. Everybody knew what type of player Ariza was. He was a poor ball handler, poor passer, bad shooter...only good thing was he was athletic. Kiwi's strengths translate pretty well. There is a reason one was picked at 15 and the other was picked in the 2nd round.
2 players on rookie contracts playing 8 million ABOVE their worth? This is some hair splitting. Its comparing the super lowest priced bargain to the lowest priced bargain. The contract amounts are just standard draft slot conditions. Its not like Parsons and Leonard got handed out EXTRA money blindly by front office. They're not "bloating" up payroll in any way. The amounts are inconsequential not matter what they're trying to shave off for the "bigger picture"
good thing in our pursuit of a small forward we saw carmelo anthony potential in marcus morris while the spurs took kawhi leonard after us. I know morey rarely misses but man marcus morris over kawhi looks bad right about now considering they played the same position
spurs development doesn't just take a look at statistics. They look at the drive/personality/ skill-set/translatable skill set/ potential as opposed to LOW-RISK/HIGH REWARD moves the rockets always make. With a 2nd round pick like Parsons that is the way to go, but in evaluating real talent you can't use pure stats. I hope the rockets come to realize this.

When you have a chance to grab a franchise player like Morris, you do it every time, even if it means passing on a great role player like Leonard. That's drafting 101 man.
I agree he's a better defender. When you can shut down supposedly one of the best players of all-time, as he has for the first 3 games of the series, that makes you one of the best defenders of all-time.
saw this posted on another forum ------------- Of all players in the modern era that played at least 12 playoff games(so excluding limited sample sizes), the following players have posted a PER > 18, a True Shooting % over 60%, 8 Rebounds per game and 1.5 Steals per game: - 2009 Lebron James - 2010 Lebron James - 1984 Larry Bird - 1986 Larry Bird - 1997 Hakeem Olajuwon - 1982 Magic Johnson - 1986 Charles Barkley - 2013 Kawhi Leonard
During his rookie year, there was an idiot here who said the Rockets should keep Marcus Morris because he was the only guy on the team with superstar "potential". This was after it became obvious he would be close to a zero in the NBA.
kawhi >>>>>> morris. why did we have to get morris? **** the pf position, should've gone for bpa when the talent gap is that big
This guy is such a good rebounder for his size. That's the first thing about his game that I notice when watching him play.
Long arms and huge hands. Leonard's vertical isn't off the charts but he has a habit of reaching up and snagging rebounds you don't think he should get. Me makes smh sometimes.
