As a state employee who has assisted with legislative committee preparations, it is a real shame that it is forbidden to embarrass legislators when they are grandstanding idiots.

Dem Sen. Bob Menendez Accuses Ted Cruz Of Having “Obamaphobia” – Update: Cruz Spokeswoman, “If Obamaphobia Means Fear Of Government Tyranny and Willingness To Stand Against It” We’re Fine With It…

Considering Obama’s slide in the polls “Obamaphobia” must be contagious.

    Via TPM:
    http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/bob-menendez-cruz-has-obamaphobia

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) offered a diagnosis on Tuesday for what he believes afflicts Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

The outspoken Texas Republican said Monday that President Barack Obama is the “biggest obstacle” to immigration reform because he advocates a path to citizenship, a provision loathed by much of the GOP. But during an appearance on MSNBC, Menendez said that it was actually the bipartisan Gang of Eight — of which he is a member — that pushed for a path to citizenship.

“Well, I think he has Obamaphobia,” Menendez said of Cruz. “The reality is that it is the Gang of Eight that came together — four Democrats, four Republicans — and said that we need a path to citizenship.”

    Update: Awesome as always.

(Breitbart) — A spokeswoman for Sen. Ted Cruz told Breitbart News that her boss might just be suffering from a case of “Obamaphobia,” as Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) diagnosed earlier on Tuesday, depending on what the symptoms of such a condition are.

“If Obamaphobia means fear of government tyranny and the willingness to stand against it, I wouldn’t say that’s inaccurate,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said in an email.

Sen. Cruz: This Administration’s View of Federal Power Knows No Bounds

Highlights Ongoing Quest of Obama Administration to Increase Federal Power in Updated Report

    Contact: (202) 224-5922 / press@cruz.senate.gov
    Tuesday, June 11, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today updated his report - “The Legal Limit: The Obama Administration’s Attempts to Expand Federal Power” – with two recent U.S. Supreme Court cases that again unanimously struck down the Administration’s effort to increase its power, this time seeking to impose double taxation in PPL Corp v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue and to limit property owners’ constitutional defenses in Horne v. USDA. Since January 2012, the Court has unanimously rejected the Obama Administration Department of Justice’s arguments for expanded federal power eight times.

“It is clear that the Obama Administration’s view of federal power knows virtually no bounds,” Sen. Cruz said. “That combined with its ongoing inability to be forthcoming with the American people – from drones policy to the IRS to Benghazi, to name a few – should be cause of deep concern to every citizen of this great nation. I will continue to highlight the unprecedented quest of this administration to expand its oversight and intrusion into Americans’ lives.”

In April, Sen. Cruz released a report – “The Legal Limit: The Obama Administration’s Attempts to Expand Federal Power” – that analyzes instances where the U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously rejected the Obama Administration’s arguments for increased federal power.

Hilarious! Cruz is absolutely funny even though some people take him seriously. Yes he's leading the fight against the tyranny we all face.

Hopefully you guys are doing okay under such tyranny that is torturing us so much right now.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Democrats Designed Immigration Bill to Fail – So They Can Use It as a Political Tool (Video)

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...so-they-can-use-it-as-a-political-tool-video/(Video at link)

During a debate today on the immigration reform bill submitted by the “Gang of Eight,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took to the Senate floor and said Democrats know the bill in its current form doesn’t have a chance to pass in the House of Representatives.

“There are not 218 votes in the House of Representatives to pass a pathway to citizenship. My friends on the Democratic side of the aisle know that, but I think they’ve made a political judgment that they want to campaign on the issue rather than rolling up their sleeves and saying, ‘How do we actually get a bill that could pass into law?’”

Sen. Ted Cruz: ‘Say, why hasn’t the Obama administration prosecuted a single felon who illegally tried to buy a gun?’

    http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2013/06/1...ingle-felon-who-illegally-tried-to-buy-a-gun/(Video at the link)

Interesting exchange during today’s hearing on the nomination of Todd Jones to head up the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It turns out that in 2010 more than 48,000 felons tried to buy guns illegally. The Department of Justice attempted to prosecute just 44 of them. Not 44,000. Forty-four.

Jones throws up a dust cloud of words but basically admits that there haven’t been many prosecutions of obvious gun crimes that ought to be prosecuted. Despite the fact that Jones himself called such prosecutions a “major priority.” Sen. Cruz has successfully argued cases before the US Supreme Court. He easily traps Jones with his own words, and calls Jones out for refusing to answer questions.

Obama et al. want to put more gun laws on the books not to get after felons, but to make it more difficult for law-abiding Americans to obtain firearms. A cynic might conclude that the administration might be interested in allowing violent felons to obtain guns so that when they commit violence with those guns, calls to weaken the Second Amendment might find a receptive populace. After the NSA, IRS, Benghazi, etc etc etc, cynicism is the way to bet.

Oh Ted, you silly, little man...

There were 4 democrats and 4 republicans who compromised (I know that's a hard word for you and to understand) and came up with a bipartisan plan that got 84 senators to agree too.

It's politcal pal. Some times they vote for something they know will not be passed because it looks good with constituents.

Do you think House will pass the bill?

Oh so you think this issue is one the Demos plan to use in campaigning during 2014.

Why would it be an issue in 2014 if the law is passed this summer?

Because the Demos know they don't have the votes in the House to pass this bloated piece of legislation.

Have you even looked at the bill?

Both of those things would actually matter if what the Demos are trying to pass off as immigration reform was actually common sense reform.

Of course immigration is important, but just like the gun control debate, Democrats don't want to actually answer the real questions but want to pass bills that are so politcal that they know it can't and shouldn't pass. They do this not because they actual want the law to pass but so they can have something to say during election cycle. Demos have been on the defense so much lately I actually feel bad for Obama and you guys who worship him. He is a joke, even Putin thinks he is a joke and that's a joke in itself.

While I do actually agree that Democrats don't want immigration reform to pass because it is too valuable a weapon for them, I don't think they are the ones who will be responsible for it failing. If it fails (and I think there is a good chance it will) it will be because House Republicans running for reelection every 2 years are scared to death to vote for "amnesty." Marco Rubio has already lost a lot of tea party luster because of his support of this bill, but he's a senator. He doesn't have run every 2 years in small area elections that can be tilted by very active individuals.
