Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but I have a year gift certificate for 1 game rental. It was a gift but I already have one. If you are interested, email me.
I sold my ps3 a day after launch on ebay and it went for like $980. The ones who made a lot of money were the ones who sold before the launch.
Probably won't get it at launch, but leaning towards PS4. Was just gonna upgrade my PC and skip consoles, but I'm really liking what I see from Sony.
Want to wait until the inevitable launch bugs get weeded out, but I REEEEALLY want to play a bunch of the games (Watch Dogs, Destiny, The Division). I'll probably still wait for a few months and work through my huge backlog of 360 games. When I do take the plunge, I'll probably go with the PS4. I don't see why the Kinect has to be mandatory, and the whole "lending games" thing sounds needlessly complicated and almost anti-consumer. The "has to log on every 24 hours" isn't too bad, but what happens if you go on vacation? You supposed to leave it on for a week? Not happening.
It's either PS4 for me or building a gaming pc. I have been with Sony since the beginning and I have never had a reason to leave. The only reason I want a PC is because of the better graphics, but if the PS4 can get close then there is no reason to get a pc. Also, I almost jizzed my pants when I watched this. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/O_j9uKBmUEk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
no I was 6th in line at the Best Buy on Richmond, and that was the 60 gigs. Both of my friends was around there. After launch prices of the PS3 was hovering around $900-1000. I know for sure, but before the launch, like a week before, it was going for $2500, which is why we camped out for 3 days.
Can't play games. Can play movies...or whatever else you can do with the device. But no games. Mirror's Edge 2 isn't an exclusive. Was just announced at EA's conference and appears to be for both platforms (not timed or anything). Sounds like it is early in development too. Early rumors pegged it as an exclusive (unveiled at MS conference), but that didn't happen.
Pretty lucky for you. I worked at Wal-Mart, and we ended up with only 7 total, and issued 2 rain checks. Night it came out they were over $2k for 60GB (at midnight ET). Even looking at the graphs I posted earlier, you see the price dropped about 50% from launch day (11-17) to the next day. They fell to in the low $800's the following week. Some people got lucky with the Christmas rush that saw prices sometimes getting over $1k, but rare. Certainly a long way from being below retail as was claimed.
I've only had Sony consoles for 16 years now, so microsoft was gonna have to win me over. Needless to say they didn't do that. I'll probably hold off on buying the PS4 for a while though. So far none of the next gen games demand my attention.
Oh, well that's excellent then! Had just assumed the original rumors of exclusivity were true, didn't know there was updated info on it already.
They never do at launch though. I think they know launch will sell on its own, and then you bring out some heavy hitters afterwards to help slumping sales.
yea that sounds about right, we were banging our head for waiting til next day to list instead of right when we got them. yea the best buy on richmond and 610 had the biggest stock in houston
Yeah, I was really thinking it would be exclusive (to somebody, but likely MS). Figured no way EA would revisit the IP without someone else helping to finance the "risk." Here's the trailer if you missed it (or anyone else): <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/s97B97dIpDQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Looks like I'm getting Xbox One since that's what all my friends are going to get and the only time I ever play video games is when they're online. Unfortunately, nobody that I know seems interested in doing any homework on which system might be better. If I was the only one to get a PS4, I would end up never using it. Also, my girlfriend loves the Kinect, so it's a much easier purchase to justify/appease her. In summary, I'm buying an Xbox One because it's what everybody else wants.
As for the poll question, I'm 99% sure I won't buy a Xbone unless MS changes their policies. I REALLY like the looks of Quantum Break, Crimson Dragon, and a few others, though I might just hope that they hit the PC at some point. Kinect, TV, etc., doesn't really interest me. Of the two, I'll go with PS4. Sony exclusives (Naught Dog, Quantic Dream, Sony Santa Monica, Media Molecule, etc.) are enough for me. Just a matter of when. I went ahead and preordered one for launch, but I might end up dropping it later. Infamous at or around launch might be enough to sell me. Maybe KZ, but never been too big on that (but looks nice). Knack looks OK, but not sure about whether it is AAA (even though Cerny is awesome). I'd probably rather a R&C by Insomniac if we were going with Sony platformers. There are some decent looking multiplatform launch games that could sell me, but so far, nothing I really need to play (especially since I need to play Last of Us, Beyond, and a few other PS3 games). The indie games look really interesting, but hard to tell if any will be truly great (plus some/most are on PC too). I'll probably just keep the preorder just so I could play with something new (I like gadgets), but probably should hold off really. Doubt I could hold off by end of 2014 though, especially if something like MGSV or FFXV hit by then. And yeah, I need to get a Wii U too at some point.
Ewwww... not encouraging. That was a really terrible trailer. No free-running at all. Just shots of tats, gloves, and lame combat, which is totally not. The. POINT. Hopefully they'll realize that people liked the game for the free-running, not the combat. That would suck if they finally resurrected it only to ruin it.
