I just checked out the "Who Posted?" stats for this thread.

    Oh my.

I guess I should have expected that.

I've said this before in the past, but I think it deserves to be said again:

Original 360 owners, if you care to keep using your 360 well into the future, I would recommend trading in your old unit for one of the slims, whenever the inevitable price cuts on current gen systems hit.

They're just so much better than the previous models. They're smaller, use less power, WAY quieter, they look cooler, they're more reliable, and there's nothing you're losing by giving up your old machine (backwards compatibility is the same as original models, very much unlike all the PS3 SKUs).

The 360 slim is the biggest reason I'm confident that there won't be another RRoD fiasco coming from Microsoft.

Probably good advice, but in my case I'm happy to kiss the thing goodbye when it finally breathes its last. Not sure what I'll do with all my games. Maybe just try to sell them all on eBay in one big bundle or something. I'm too lazy to sell them individually on Amazon.

Sony cant force publishers to not put DRM on their games. If a publisher wanted to put DRM in themselves on the PS3 or 360 they can and EA has done it with their online passes. MS is wildly different in that they are actually implementing a DRM system that makes all games have DRM, voluntarily or involuntarily.

Well the little rumor is squashed. The only thing the developers can control is if they want to charge for an online pass just like they've already been doing. DRM has always existed in Discs but this means I can still lend it to my buddy and he can play it without added fees. Not the case with XBone

    OMFG.

I hadn't actually taken a minute to watch the trailer for X until just now.

WOW. I must have it! I just went from not wanting a WiiU at all to strongly considering buying one soon. In 2 minutes.

You got me to check it out...yeah, wow. I was already impressed by the last showing it had, but it really looks good.

MGSV full trailer now (2-3 minutes more than yesterday, plus better quality):

So someone explain to me the difference between letting a friend borrowed a console vs PC game disc? One is you install on your PC to play it and the other is just playing off the DVD/CD disk(s). Oh course one your friend is complete playing the game he/she must uninstall the game off their machine. So what the hell is the DRM rules apply here?

The interesting thing is that EA themselves have announced that they're ditching the online pass model. But did they do that thinking that both next-gen consoles would block used games? Hmm. If so, they're going to have to think of another way to screw consumers out of their money.

Or just change their mind. Wouldn't put that past EA either.

"Oh well we are discontinuing the online pass model for previous-gen games, but for next-gen it will still apply."

A big reason ea is ditching online passes is because of the sim city fiasco.

They'll be back once other companies figure out how to do it right.

Yeah. Nothing from EA would surprise me at this point.

BTW, has anyone mentioned that PS4 will not be region-locked, while XB1 will?

Nice if you ever want to import. Personally I don't care too much, but for some folks this is definitely going to matter.

I like that Sony is at least trying.

Firmware updates can wash this all away, but that's what hacker communities are for

This is from January. Is there an E3 trailer you're seeing? I'm having a hard time finding it if so.
