I am currently 80+ hours into FF12. I'd say I'm roughly 2/3 complete. I'd rather they re-do FF4 (They did for DS) & FF6.
They're charging for online? Jesus. That's sad man. Do we know the price point yet? By the time I'm 40 my subscription fees are gonna total like $450/mt. They need to start bundling things like Spotify, PSN, Netflix and my gym membership together at a reduced rate. Maybe that's the next big business idea.
I want to say yes. The Nintendo site says it supports all accessories from the original Wii. So I guess if you can save them to an SD card you'll be able to transfer them like that. And this confirms it: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_system_transfer.jsp?menu=how_to&submenu=wup-transfer-ht-content
Wish it wasn't 3DS only. I'm not buying a 3DS, and prefer console games. I rarely pull out my regular DS.
It is bundled together with PS+ for PS4. Current rate is like $5/month or $50/yr. You get free games, discounts, cloud saves, etc. It is a no brainer to get anyway if you play games somewhat often, but not cool that they gave in to that IMO.
And yeah, KH3 confirmed for Xbox One too. They even say they'll release in Japan (previous regional exclusivity deal has expired). Wonder if they'll release the game(s) without the console. Already talking about sequels for FFXV. Shut up SE. SHUT UP! JUST MAKE THE FREAKING GAME FIRST!
Surprisingly not a bad deal. But yeah man, forcing customers in like that, not cool. At least I can justify the expense. All of the add-ons, fees, subscriptions - it's really grinding my gears. As a consumer I feel as if I'm going up against a Mike Leach offense. Dinking and dunking me for 5 yard outs, slowly breaking my will, crushing my spirit, and forcing me to breakdown.
$50/year. But unlike XBox Live, you don't need a subscription to stream media services you're already subscribed too like Netflix, Hulu, etc . . .
Apparently after 7+ years in development (and after...I don't know how many trailers), it still is "too early" to say how far along FFXV is. KH3 is by the team that does some of the handheld games, not Nomura's team. Guess that means it won't take 20 years to come out. Maybe just the usual 7-10.
Um... we know? Did anyone say anything differently? I just got into talking about last-gen games. That 3-game deal really was a coup for Sony. If TGC had known how big a hit Journey would be, I'm sure they would have asked for more money. Actually, yes. It RROD'ed three times, got repaired for free three times. Only reason I still have it and it still works is that I barely play it anymore after getting a PS3 slim in 2009. But yeah, like Drex and RC said, I have a hard time believing that MS will do a repeat of the 360's horrible hardware failure rate. I'm betting they're doing a crap-ton of testing to make sure the XB1 is rock-solid and won't break quickly. As for Nintendo stuff... I actually bought a 3DS just recently to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I kinda wished afterward that I had bought a Wii U just so I could go online with it, but at least I also had the new Fire Emblem and all the backward-compatible DS games (never owned a DS, so I have that whole catalog to look through now). Now thankfully it looks like there are more reasons to own a 3DS, retroactively helping to justify my purchase.
I was just skimming posts (might have lumped this with the "PS has better exclusives" talk), and saw it mentioned (I think someone else was mentioning it too). Can't remember for sure, but I was just making it clear that while Journey/tgc was great for PS3, you couldn't count on them for PS4 (unlike Naughty Dog or some other team). I know some people still think that Sony has an exclusive deal with them, or that they would stick with them. And yeah, it was a great deal.
RC, just curious, do you by chance work in the industry or do you just research a lot of this yourself? Seems like you're pretty knowledgeable on a lot of the things going on behind the scenes with these companies.
Just research it a lot for fun (like some of our cap guys). I don't know anything behind the scenes. I follow a lot of conferences, dev statements, behind the scene videos, etc., but all publicly available. I posted some rumors and leaks, but that was just from NeoGAF.com (or other boards). No inside sources or anything. I got fed up trying to make a damn border for a BlackBerry app. Not sure how I'd do if I was in the industry. edit:Hmm...but maybe I could forget about IE6? Maybe wouldn't be so bad...
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-ps4-used-game-restrictions-up-to-publishers So it looks like if the publisher doesn't approve of used game, they'll also have a fee on them. So Sony lied? Uh oh. Here comes a poop storm.
