That's an awful lot of apple products to get so upset so easily. Also never heard of that issue. You sure it doesn't have something to do with your router? Check to see the firmware is up to date on your Airport Extreme / Base Station.
I gave up on Apple products when an IOS update rendered my wife's iphone useless because it was so slow. I still have two original ipads that my kids use and a current Macbook Pro(from work) that I've been trying to switch with a thinkpad for a the last year.
I'm not a fan. But my mother's ipad 3 was shattered, to the point of no repair.... And Apple Store sold her a brand new one for $50, after they told her to just bring it in and they'll look up to see if she had a warranty, couldn't find it. (she wasn't sure if she bought one). But because of the time it took, they offered to sell her a new one for $50.
I went to the store and they exchanged my jailbroken iphone 3gs which voided the warranty. I am not sure if they are still cool these days. Its their cs line which works in a way that you cant speak to a tech unless you enter a serial number for a product within warranty.
hey so my mom's ipad 3 drops the wifi too..it shows the wifi icon but i have to go and turn the wifi off/on to get it going on. is it a hardware issue?
Lol is this a joke? First of all, speaking as someone who used to do technical support, that **** isn't free my man. You expect lifetime free technical support? Isn't going to happen. What an ignorant notion. Second of all, they are forced to do that kind of stuff, but chances are, if you call again, complain enough, make life difficult enough for honest people trying to do their job, someone will make an exception and HELP you fix something that is out of warranty. Chances are, if you went in person, it'd be free no matter what. I never understood people who got pissed off that they can't just get free help over the phone from the comfort of their home when their product is out of warranty. Call your TV manufacture past its warranty complaining it won't stay on. I'm sure they'll be oh so helpful.
I am pretty sure my tv has the standard 1 year warranty and not some crappy 3 month warranty. The airport extreme has excellent range and i use the base station to extend my netowrk in my house, but it also drops off from my office pc requiring me to reconnect to get a better signal and faster speed. I am upset because 3 months and im sol when it comes to support for a $160 router. Also because it is apple and i expect fair treatment from them. A 90 day warranty is bs for an overpriced network setup. I dont blame the rep at all. It seems like apple is more interested in money over customer loyalty since Jobs died. Just look at how they dropped the ipad 4 6 months after the ipad 3 released. That upset a lot of their loyal customers.
I really don't think it's odd that you have to deal with that when out of warranty, particularly through phone support. Probably have much better luck in an apple store. You can also find a lot of info on router settings with a quick Internet search. I don't think you are going to find a lot of out of warranty assistance from most electronics companies in general.
I bought a Mac Mini to do some IPhone programming on a couple years ago. I hated it and have no desire to buy an apple product ever again.
If you bought it with a decent CC, the credit card company might have their own warranty system to bail you out.
