PS2, Wii, Dreamcast online werent very good. PC games frequently charge monthly fees. 360 had a great online experience.
That wasn't my post. All I did was added after you said Destiny wasn't exclusive. This is what 713 said...
Then why the **** am I arguing with you? Nevertheless the exclusive content is still irrelevant to my post.
Wut? Unless you're talking about MMOs (and those same charges would apply for console versions too, on top of the charge for online play). Even Windows Live doesn't charge (though it tried to initially and was shut down). PS3 was pretty good too (over time). PSVita is even better AFAIK. PC is great. Not even sure where PS4 will stack. Could just be identical to PS3/PSVita. So...why the need to charge?
PSN was lacking compared to Xbox Live. Slower downloads, lack of community feel, cross-game chat, etc. It was excusable bc it was free but they need to step it up now.
Take Yeller out back. Do what has to be done. https://vine.co/v/blZaBDAhrLW I've remained loyal to PS3 these past few years - despite my friends defecting to Xbox 360 and the 2011 PSN hack - due to exclusives and the free PSN. Even though the PS4 will require $5/month for PS+, I'm happy to pay it. Hopefully this will improve performance of the servers and security, while still giving out the free games subscribers already get. Best of all, every one of my friends who planned on buying the Xbox One have decided to return to Sony. Welcome home, boys.
The wording is really pretty clear. Here's a transcript of what was said 0:48-1:18. "For less than $5 a month, members will get (blah blah blah), as well as the ability to fully immerse themselves in the incredible PS4 games with online multiplayer. PS4 gamers that aren't PS+ members will be able to enjoy the single-player games for free and access to all of your media services won't require plus." That seems pretty unambiguous. PS+ required for PS4 online multiplayer, just not any other media services.
Never really had a problem with slower downloads personally. Just sounds like something people say to justify XBL costing more. Maybe it is true (though doubt there are any object numbers for it), but not like charging for online play suddenly helps with that. Lack of community feel isn't really something helped by online fees either (not sure that is really objective either). Cross-game chat is supported by Vita (also well supported in PC IIRC...just not possible with PS3 OS). None of that really justifies charging a fee for. Sony can start charging a fee and still be more or less the same in those areas (or be better, but able to do so without charging a fee). They're charging a fee because we'll let them. Thanks XBLG subscribers!
Driveclub I think...I'm not sure, I kinda missed that part. I don't know, because I agree that exclusive content is usually fluff stuff.
Community feel comes from the interface and accessibility to friends while playing games. And PS3 is in fact slower when it comes to downloads. Google is your friend. Also I never said the price was justified.
