wow. thanks for putting this together. great post.

and i think you're right - people have a problem with him not averaging more pt/gm rather than his consistency. we've seen how high he can go - we just want to see more of THAT. we don't want to see more of 13pt/gm. we want to see more 20pt/gm. good job pointing that out.

Is it causing others to lash out in ways they typically wouldn't, or it is simply an excuse for others to say what they've always wanted to say? hmm....

but anyway, everyone is responsible for their own posts - you can't blame others for how you choose to type the words on your keyboard. "you made me do it" only works when you're 4 years old.

Beautiful charts. Numbers don't lie. The stats of Lin's second half look even better. (both average and consistency)

    Thank you for the post.:)

You're just as bad as the people who are making racist comments to be honest. Race baiting is just as pathetic as racism.

You'll have to explain to me how he was race baiting. I missed that part.

seriously? how am i race baiting? it's a totally legitimate question. you don't think there are people out there just waiting for the right excuse? and you think "you made me do it" is a legitimate excuse for being an idiot? how 'bout we all hold ourselves to what we say and post and stop blaming others for our actions.

i missed it too. maybe he was referring to himself in his original post and thought i was referring him needing an excuse to say stupid stuff? i have no idea. oh well.

Not much of an explanation. Stop being racist. See? Me just arbitrarily saying something doesn't necessarily make it true.

Your initial comment of "It causes others to lash out in ways they probably typically wouldn't." while probably accurate in its descriptive nature seemed to have instead been offered as an excuse for people. Maybe I'm wrong and just misread the intent. If descriptive, then sure, yeah people look for excuses. If, however, it was offered as an excuse, I find that statement rather distasteful, probably in the same vein as those who say women who are raped "asked for it" because they dressed provocatively. Puh-lease.

Regardless of your intent, I certainly don't think Fighton's question was out of line. Your response was both rude and nonsensical, though you would think one would usually disqualify the other.

I totally agree with you. Lin doesn't need to play like linsanity always. He has a lot to learn and will become more experienced and valuable player. I think if Rockets signed him with less money, maybe people would not complain that much. He signed a contract based on his linsanity hype. People judged him based on that not on real facts. i like his personality a lot and always support him. But I hate some people using doublestandard to jusge him.
Thank you for writing this thread.

Good points. i hope people don't use linsanity ruler to judge him. and Rockets dosn't want him to play the best, especially not play better than harden. Lin is in th stage of improving from all the espects. He will shine someday.

Not many people were hating on him. They were hating on some of his fans who are unbearable.

    Another Lin thread.

LOF's flooded this board with "fire McFail," "you guys are racist," "Yao Ming has abnormal genes so he's not a normal Asian," "Lin is so good that he should be traded to a different team," "I can say whatever I want coz this board does not belong to anybody and has no specific purpose," etc.

LOF's definitely made this board worse. Of course, they don't know that because they were not here before the word "McFail" was invented.

Genuine question. Just me or have LOFs sort of disappeared since the end of the Rockets run in the playoffs? I see more LOHs posting in the GARM today than LOFs tbh.

    You're right and wrong.

Right: the LOF's have mostly disappeared.

    Wrong: the LOH's remain.

    1) If someone joined the board before Lin showed up on the Rockets, it is by definition impossible for that person to be a LOH.

    2) The regular Rockets fans are still on the board, as they have been for years. I don't know what the LOF's are up to. But I promise you they will be back when they start seeing Jeremy on TV again.

i have made none of those statements and i don't want you to write this off as 'another lin thread'.

i really wanted to assess what people honestly thought about the dude's performance this year during the season, and what he has contributed. honestly, i am more inclined to take the responses of members whose join date is prior to the summer of 2012.

my point is that i think he has contributed a lot to the team, but he has a lot of work to do. i just never understood why CFers were so despondent about his performance.

i've seen over the years how many players get hate, but i understand now that there are several underlying factors that contribute to the hate of JLin.

i like the dude's character and work ethic. he's a good teammate and i really would like to see our '3' get glory.

    1. Most people here hate the fans of Jeremy Lin, not Jeremy Lin himself. Lin fans are some of the most annoying PoS people I have met on the Internet. At least T-Mac had the skills to back up his mouth and the mouths of his fans early on. Lin is average to above average AT BEST currently.
    2. A lot of people have overly high expectations of Jeremy Lin after Linsanity and were disappointed when he played poorly at the start of the season. They basically thought we were paying 8M per year for Linsanity, not down-to-earth Lin.
    3. We went from a proven starter (Lowry) to a PG that most considered as good if not better than Lowry (Dragic) to well.. Lin. As far as most of us are concerned, that is still a downgrade.
    4. Unreasonable expectations about performance considering he is basically an undrafted sophomore in the NBA.

Yes and also, I think if Lin was allowed to play more minutes and more selfish. (Remember many times when he was hot, he got subbed out.) He would have been the second best scorer in the team.:)
