Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess).

6-7 Jordan Lyles, RHP vs. James Shields, RHP 7:10

6-8 Erik Bedard, LHP vs. Ervin Santana, RHP 6:10

6-9 Lucas Harrell, RHP vs. Luis Mendoza, RHP 1:10

Castro and JD striking out with a runner on third and no outs kills me... I will take the early lead though

He's still got time to develop.

He didn't fall apart after giving up the dinger which was kind of his pattern in the past. They haven't lost this one yet but even their losses are better lately...

Lyles has a sub 3 ERA if you omit the Ranger game. He has been more than impressive this year, and it's amazing when you consider the fact that he is 22 for the rest of the season. I can't decide of his development or Dominguez's is more impressive this year. Maybe it's too early to say, but it is more than comforting to start seeing "players of the future" get a grasp on a spot.

Lyles is so young we forget since he's been here a while. He was always a pitchability guy. Combine experience with improved velocity, it seems he may have figured it out. Still cautious with my optimism right now.

It would be so nice to have a long term starter already on the roster.

Since I am not able to watch many games thanks to CSN, could someone inform me on what kind of stuff is Lyles working with these days? I havent seen him pitch in probably a few years now.

This is interesting to me. I wonder if having players from different teams meet and chat is a normal occurrence?

I just hope something along the lines of "wait til you sign a decent contract before you come clean about your age" was said.

I enjoyed having Tejada here. I know the trade was not popular, but in reality we gave up nothing that really mattered. Obviously the publicity was bad for Miggy right away, but the guy played hard and always seemed to enjoy coming to the park and playing, something that certainly couldn't be said for many guys on the Astros during that period.

Also, he certainly wasn't the only Astro tied to steroids. I'm not condoning him roiding, or anyone else for that matter, but he was ripped from day one around here after the Mitchell report came out and it's pretty obvious a good part of our decade + of greatness was tied to roids

This Ambriz appearance (bottom 8, 0-0 game) is a "win me over" opportunity. Maybe that's just be, but keeping this game nil nil would really do a lot for me an his likability.
