He doesn't get friend zoned, he puts girls in the friend zone! Hey guys, I think he's just friend zoning this girl for all the clutchfans that have been friend zoned. Bravo my friend, bravo!
Yes. But the question to ask is, why does it take so long to develop feelings, especially if you've known her for ten years? What are you doing on these dates? I would say 3 weeks to a month for a kiss is gentlemanly. 3 months is weird.
You should join the army, go fight overseas, goto Princeton for a few months, start an illegal business that earns you tonnes of money, buy a mansion on Long Island, host extravagant parties every weekend, and hope to God that she stumbles in one night.
I don't know if you are prude, but you definitely aren't like 99 percent of the rest of the western world. Sounds like a Korean soap opera.
3 months before kissing a girl is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. saying you're prude would be putting it kindly. why do you feel it's necessary to wait this long?
I think wanting things to be more meaningful and not cheapened is very honorable. It means you want something more than just a piece of a**. Sex is one thing, but I would agree with others in wondering why it would take so long for a kiss of all things, especially since you've known her for so long. But, I wouldn't get into a label. You are who you are and there is nothing wrong with that. But it seems to me you might be a little afraid of either being hurt or doing/coming across something that would "ruin" things. I say go for it dude.... pretend you're Clark Gable and kiss her damn it. If she's not the one, you're that much closer to finding who is. Good luck!
I won't say you're prude. You are who you are. But I will say your choices in this regard are contrary to 99.99% of every guy I've ever known of. If you want to wait, that's fine. But I would tell her about your timetable right up front. Otherwise, she may think you're losing interest (or worse: were never interested to begin with) and just decide to move on.
Just so everyone doesn't gang up on you, I should throw my hat in on this one too... I dated a girl for six months without kissing her, twice.
What culture are you Gatsby? Is this a natural dating pattern for your race or religion? Usually for Americans, hormones drive the love train.
We knew each other through schooling and then hadn't seen or talked during university. Our dates we've done drinks, dinner, drinks; drinks on my rooftop; movie; and last night was dinner, drinks and movie in my apartment. I want to kiss someone — have sex with someone — for all of the right reasons, not just any reason. Haha. I'm my own self. Gatsby is my middle name. She knows that I am slow to do anything physical. I just want it to be real. I've dated three different women for a year, two years, and four years respectively. It's not that I don't date and I am shy. It's that I want there to be real emotion. Thanks. I really appreciate that. She knows that I am slow to do anything physical. White/Caucasian. I grew up in The Woodlands, went to University of Texas, now live in Manhattan.
