[Chron] Hakeem Olajuwon’s Clear Lake mansion to host upscale weddings

Didn't they tear that one down? I remember going there once or at least we thought it was the one. Still creepy though. I seem to remember a lot of windows in the center. Don't remember too much about the inside because I was pretty drunk. I do remember hearing some laughing at the end of a hall that freaked me out but like I said, I was drunk and it could have been my friends...still freaked me out.

 

Not it's not. The howling you hear is just David Robinson's soul, which Dream also has on display. Robinson has to give the city of Houston one of his sons before he can get it back. Unfortunately, he's not a basketball player, but we'll take it.

 

Wasnt this mansion an old boarding school for bad kids in the 40s? Or is that behind the mansion?

I just remember hearing they would threaten to throw the kids in the creek, where they claimed there were alligators, if the misbehaved.

 

So he can't spend his money on a nice house? I don't get the logic

 

This is spending money on a nice mansion he won't live in though....

I do wonder if Dream changed his mentality at some point. It's not like he's out there selling sneakers to kids for $200, but it seems like he realized he'd be better off financially, if he provided services and goods to the rich, who can afford it anyway.

 

Sure he can spend money on a nice house but this isn't what that is.

 

Where can you rent out Mutombo's house? I want to say, "yep, that just happened in your house."
