I'm not sure what he has said publicly, but I am pretty sure he is going to go to Notre Dame. You would think at this point someone would take a flier on him, but this late in the draft, he definitely would not sign with whoever took him.
Teams thoughts that his signability did not match his talent. And the new CBA and draft bonus pool, teams only have a limited amount they can spend. Perhaps he gets picked today after round 10. Someone potentially could meet his demand if they saved enough money through rounds 1-10. Maybe the Astros at 11.1?
Its likely he is going to college and teams don't want to risk a high pick on a guy that isn't likely to sign.
The Astros are the one team that would know for sure if there is a chance to sign him, or if he is going to college regardless. If they knew there was any chance at all, i'm sure they would have taken him
Cavan Biggio does not have a defensive position. Too slow for the outfield. Arm not strong enough for third. Can not play second. He will play third for Notre Dame, so he might be able to develop his arm in three years as he fills out. I would not be surprised to see the Astros use a 30+ round pick to draft Biggio, as a nice gesture to the Biggios and Astros fans.
Because he is what he is and he has to take it one game at a time. He can't get too high, and he can't get too low. He has to play hard every play.
I would say that once he dropped past the third round it was assumed he would go to ND. If teams were told that. I'm sure pop was probably pushing that anyway. Playing in college can actually be beneficial and doesn't carry the stigma it used to.
