Crawfish Boxes Draft Profile: Andrew Thurman 2013: 14 starts (3 CG), 6-4, 3.23 ERA, 100.1 IP, 85 H (1 HR), 40 R (36 ER), 19 BB, 91 K
hahaha how is it possible that, not only can he still barely speak english after living in america for 40 years, but he even struggled pronouncing "houston astros"?
his stats this year at UC Irvine didn't blow me away... 3.23 ERA, .234 BAA in a good but not great conference
With the final pick of Day 1, the Marlins select Colby Suggs, a RHP from Arkansas. I'll be back tomorrow at noon. The Astros will be on the clock to kick off Day 2 with Round 3, pick 74.
Looks like the pick was rather clear-cut.

#Houston #Astros decided to take Mark Appel about an hour before No. 1 pick was made. #MLB
— Brian T. biggio? guess he's dropping further than projected. i'd love to hear where the royals had hunter dozier on their board, and am eager to see what they end up paying him.
Not a fan of the Thurman pick. Average stuff all the way around. Report says 90-93mph, but its more like 90-91 with an occasional 93 when he needs it. Nothing special about him.
Expect some high upside picks on Day 2. Some names to watch: Jon Denney (C) Kyle Serrano (RHP) Cord Sandberg (CF) Cavan Biggio (2B) JaCoby Jones (2B) Stephen Gonsalves (LHP) Rowdy Tellez (1B) Jake Brentz (LHP) Drew Ward (3B)
But it's his command that is regarded. I think his K to BB ratio is pretty great. He has three pitches he command. At worst he's an outstanding middle reliever
