My wife hates cooking, and we often opt for separate meals because that's what we've grown accustomed to after years of living with roommates.

What's it like at your house?

Why don't you just ask "who earns more money?" and get the reverse of that? :p

Me (man of house) = Turn tv dinners into perfection and also make damn good hot dogs.

Wife = everything outside the realm I rule.

SO does but I help out where I can...usually cooking the meat.. I feel bad for people whose SO can't cook well. It's awesome to have someone that not only cooks well but loves doing it.

I rule the grill and smoker, wife owns the oven and stove. So she cooks on weeknights and I do on the weekends.

We both do. But we have an arrangement: as soon as she complains about how I'm cooking/preparing/whatever, I'm done. I drop everything and either she takes over or it all goes to waste.

I cook 95% of the time, I don't even like her coming into the kitchen. It's my therapy and I love cooking and learning new things.

I love to cook, and I'm very good at it, so I do most of it. Wife says I'm bossy in the kitchen, so she typically assists.

She use to say I was the better cook and she was a better baker, so I always went along with that (even tho I knew it wasn't true). Then the other day she got pulled away from some cookies she was making and I had to do them. Well, they turned out better than all her previous attempts. I felt bad because she likes to bake... I should have messed them up on purpose for her ego.

Of course WE MEN bar-b-q or make carne asada. That's a given. Why do you all have to bring that iSht up? You don't see women lighting the grill up.
So... not significant enough difference... means you both do? My theory is right.

My GF still lives at home and typically stays at my place 3-4 nights a week, so it's almost always me cooking. I prefer it that way anyway since a) I like cooking and b) even though she's a pretty good cook, she's really messy. If/when she moves in we'll probably come up with a system.

You....do realize that most of the world class chefs in the world are men right? So it's not exactly a "womans" job to cook the meals....

Women are cooks, men are chefs.

Men cook for other families, women cook for their own families.
