    A prime, healthy Ginobili?

    Ginobili = Wade.

This may come as a surprise, but Ginobili actually has the better WS/48.

This is ridiculous. The Heat Bench in their prime is 10 times better than the Spurs. Birdman, Juwon Howard, Mike Miller and Shane Battier would kill the Spurs 2nd unit. Wade would shut down Parker, Lebron would shut down T-Mac. Tim Duncan is the only Spur that would dominate.

The 2nd unit would barely play, and frankly, the offense on the Heat 2nd unit would suck, as would the rebounding.

    What about Ginobili?

If those guys have to shut down the Spurs big 4, how much energy will they have left?

If I'm the Spurs, I'm starting Leonard instead of Splitter.

Gregg Popovich would still be winning championships if he never coached Tim Duncan. You have to put a great coach on great players to win. How many rings does MJ had before Phil Jackson when To Chicago? Tim Duncan would of never won those 4 championships with out Pop and his supporting cast. Replace Tim Duncan's career to Kevin Garnett in Minnesota and now tell me how many Championships would Tim Duncan win in Minnesota???? Thought so..

The benches would hardly play. I'd imagine a 7 or 8 man rotation tops. The 2nd units would never actually play eachother.

    Duncan
    McGrady
    Leonard
    Manu
    Parker

This lineup would give the heat so many problems. I am sure pop would use it a lot against the Heat who lack post scoring options.

Nearly a serious posy by Jontro. I think your life would improve drastically if you did not shy away from commitment. You fap? A lot? In one week try doing it over 9,000 times.

But there is still only one basketball. Final minute of the game, who do you want to have the ball out of everyone considering the match ups?

I would go with duncan, parker, mcgrady, lebron, wade in that order. The refs swallow their whistles on the final play, and i prefer a prime tmac pulling up over lebron. Duncan and parker have more favorable matchups.

I voted Spurs before I remembered Tracy is on the bench. Wow, that would be an amazing squad.

But the most clutch player would be out of Manu and Wade in their primes, that would be an AMAZING duel. Wade playing MJ-esque in his prime and Ginobili right there with him.

Manu's 3 point shot is better so he has a dimension to his offensive game Wade never has.

A prime: Duncan, Tracy, Manu, Parker VS Prime: Wade, Lebron, Allen, Bosh

Because Duncan would own the paint, the Spurs would prevail in the best Finals matchup ever.

Are we assuming Lebron has reached his prime?

    Heat:

    PG: Dwyane Wade/Mario Chalmers
    SG: Ray Allen/Mike Miller
    SF: LeBron James/Shane Battier
    PF: Chris Bosh/Rashard Lewis
    C: Chris Anderson/Juwan Howard

    Spurs:

    PG: Tony Parker/Patty Mills
    SG: Manu Ginobili/Danny Green
    SF: Tracy McGrady/Kawhi Leonard
    PF: Boris Diaw/DeJuan Blair
    C: Tim Duncan/Tiago Splitter

The Heat pretty much win by virtue of their firepower and ability to defend each position.

Well, there's no guarantee of chemistry for either team.

What do you mean no guarantee? That's what makes the Spurs tick. It's their trademark.

That center position is pretty weak considering duncan has over 30 pounds on birdman. The spurs have the better starting 5, defense, rebounding, passing (everyone can pass), post scoring (3 options), perimeter shooting. The heat bench is better, but green and leonard will improve. Tiago splitter is another 7 footer with good defense off the bench.

Many people forgetting how good prime Juwon Howard really was.

I agree that I first thought that prime Spurs would be better, purely because of Duncan and T-Mac at their primes are top 10 players of all time (if T-Mac played at his prime for 10 years, he would be better than Lebron).

BUT... look at Miami's bench. They have so many old-timer ex- Allstars who were great in their prime. Spurs have youngsters who are better NOW, but we are talking prime here.

Ray Allen and Reshard Lewis - remember that Sonics team from the early/mid 2000's that was expected to achieve nothing post-Payton era? They surprised everyone and came out guns blazing in a season where they had the best record in the league for the first few months, before dropping off. That was all Allen and Reshard at their primes.

Mike Miller - rookie of the year and the best 3 point shooter of the early 2000's

Juwon Howard - A member of the famed Fab 5 and a solid all-star in the mid to late 90's. Everyone is sleeping on him because his prime was sooooooo long ago, but the rules of this discussion is prime form, so you have to include allstar J-Howard. He specifically puts them on top.

who has the most 1st ballot undeniable hall of famers if we assume that these pstayedi n their prime for majority of their careers?

Lebron, Wade, Bosh (look at toronto stats), T-Mac, Ray Allen. that's 5 for the heat.

duncan, Parket, T-Mac - Only 3 players. You can argue that Ginobili, but he was never given the chance. He made the plays of a 1st ballot HOFer, but not given the minutes to have the stats of one.

They don't beat obedience into their players, they choose the players that are willing to buy into the team concept. See: Danny Green the first time he signed with the Spurs and Stephen Jackson.

Would this line up even make the playoffs in their prime?

    Chalmers
    Miller
    Batttier
    Lewis
    Howard

Bottom feeders not that the sours bench would fare any better, but lets put this in perspective. The spurs bench has better defense and rebounding with leonard, neal, and green leading them.
