Just a funny, random thought I had today about why Lin chose to come to Houston instead of staying in New York. Not to be taken seriously!

Before Lin went to New York, he played for Dallas, Golden States, and Houston. He wore #7 jersey while he was on all those teams. In New York, because of Melo has #7, Lin had to wear #17.

However, #17 was inconsistent with the "JLin7" brand he had already created on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. That made him VERY uncomfortable. During Linsanity, his Twitter account exploded with followers but it was too late to change his username to JLin17 or such.

So there you go, Lin came back to Houston to wear #7 once again and to be "JLin7" forever.:p

When I see number 7 in Rockets Red I think to myself, 'wonder what miracle Morey will make when he ships him out.' Which is coming soon, so don't get all suicidal when he's traded.

He only went to Houston cause the Knicks didn't extend him an offer. He wanted to return to NY.

Yup. They could have offered him an MLE contract but never did.

    Please, stop with BS.

The Knicks only offered J. Lin 1 year 1 million qualifying offer which is standard practice to make Lin a restricted FA. Like any sane person Lin sign Rockets tender to guarantee his finance security and 3 more years of playing in NBA. It was up to Knicks now match or decline the offer.

If Lin was crazy enough decline offer, he would have given up several millions in guarantee money as Knicks could not even come close to offering 3y/25 mil contracts because they where over the cap limit.

Also Lin stated he hoped Knicks would match the offer.

Making career decisions off of jersey numbers. Seems legit.

Hopefully Lin stops throwing up gang sings, it'll ruin the "JLin7" brand.

i kinda wish he would have ended up in NY, just so LOFs could get a reality check.. they think rockets fans are bad because we criticize jeremy.. just imagine a multiple year contract in NYC.. were nice compared to Knicks fans..

Because Lin is not qualify to be a Knicks. He simply does not has the experiences that Knicks is looking for. Look at the people they signed in the free agent:
Kurt Thomas - The oldest NBA players. I don't recall he played any game
Marcus Camby - Top 5 oldest NBA players. I don't recall he played any game
Rasheed Wallace - Another top 5 oldest NBA players. Think he played a few minutes
Jason Kidd - Another Top 5 oldest NBA - He is the only players that was good.

Steve Nash - was going to sign him before Lin. While Nash is better than Lin, IF he is health, but he is freaking 40.

You see, Lin basically don't have the qualification the Knicks was looking for, which is "experience". In other words, Lin is not old enough. Need a minimum of age 38 to considered.

He came here because Knicks couldn't match the offer.
