    Should vote on it.

Keep Asik to play with Dwight
Trade Asik for a PF upgrade

Keep Asik. Forget Howard and use the money to go after a star PF. LMA anyone?

Did you skip following the Rockets these last few years? When the Rockets were able to finally land a center in free agency they had to pay Dalembert over 8 million and he was less than good.

I would say no they can't co-exist. It'll be just like Gortat in Orlando who didn't want to be Dwight's caddy, eventually Asik will demand a trade tired of being Dwight's backup.

I doubt you can play them together either, they're both deep under the basket post players who can's shoot FTs, I just don't think it will work.

I think it could work having both of them. The free throws would be really bad though.

I don't think it's so much of a question of whether it can be made to work. It's a question of it would be smart to trade Asik so that something that works BETTER could be added.

I do not think we would get throttled at any point of the game even with Dwight. There are no teams in the league, besides maybe the Heat that can play better "small ball" than we can.

Furkan Aldemir is being brought over to be Asik-lite. My guess is the Rockets will find a way to open up just enough cap space to sign him to a Parsons type 4 year deal. If he shows any promise by mid-season, Asik is sent to another team for a top pick or player by the trade deadline.

There's no reason to be hasty. If the Rockets become one of the top defensive teams in the league (which I expect they would), Asik would maintain his current value.

Heres my idea of Rotation and play sets.

lin, harden, parsons, howard, asik. (Play Horns, freeflowing, read and react, pick and roll)

Rotations begin around the 7 min mark.

Bev, harden, Parsons, Smith, Asik. (Horns, FF, RR, p&r)

    Sub around 3 min mark.

Bev, Harden, 3point threat, Tjones, Howard. (Inside, Outside) Let Howard have his 1v1 post up game. Kick out to 3 point shooters.

Start of 2nd, Bev, Anderson, 3p threat, tjones, Howard. ( Inside outside )

8 min mark, Lin, Harden, Parsons, Tjones, Asik (Horns, ff, rr, p&r)

3 min mark, Lin Harden, Parsons, Howard, Asik ( "" )

    Rinse and repeat.

Lin harden parsons howard and asik, will roughly get 35-40 min a game.

How can the Rockets use cap space to go after someone who is not a free agent?

I hope they both start with us, Dwight at the 4 and Asik at the 5.

Also Asik isn't as a big as a liability as Dwight is at the line. If they start hacking we can still have Asik at the 5 and one of our PF's can rotate in.

I just wonder what the coaching staff think of this whole situation honestly.

If the question was whether or not Asik can co-exist with Dwight in the starting lineup , then I say NO. It just wouldn't work at all. Dwight at the 4? Lol no...just no.

If the question was whether or not Asik can co-exist with Dwight, with Asik backing up Howard from the bench, then i say YES. However, I don't think Morey would want to keep an 8 million dollar backup, especially now that Asik's trade value is pretty good.

Why people would prefer to have an Asik/Dwight front court rather than trading Asik+Pieces for a legit PF is beyond ridiculous...

it can't be worse than what the rockets had last year in the post...which was basically zero! at least they have a wall for opposing players to get through now.

I believe that in his heart Dwight thinks he’s a 4 and thinks he has the skills and footwork to play the 4 effectively. I think he’s also tired of banging up against the biggest player on the other team night after night, hence, he is rumored to want to play alongside Asik.

With that being said, will D12 and Asik work on the floor together? My gut says yes, BUT I cringed as I typed “yes.” You have to have great X’s and O’s guys on your staff who can be creative with those two and what they bring to the table. Also, both players should be taking jumpers and working on face-up moves all summer. My concern is the how effective they will be together deep in the playoffs. At that point, wrinkles and gimmicks in your offense just doesn’t work as well because at that point you really can’t bring anything new to the table regarding your offense that will fluster the other team, you are who you are. You can make adjustments but you can’t bring new gimmicks in the playoffs.
