Mick Taylor is great but I think he gets too much credit for the Stones great period. On their 4 really great albums, he didn't play on Beggar's Banquet and only played on one song on Let It Bleed. Sure he was integral to Sticky Fingers and Exile but his work on the underwhelming Goat's Head Soup or the mediocre It's Only Rock and Roll didn't elevate those albums to greatness. The guy who doesn't get enough credit is Jimmy Miller the stones producer from the "Jumpin Jack Flash" single (the start of their great period) to Goat's Head Soup. With a few exceptions ("Memory Motel", "Start Me Up" and most of Some Girls)their post Jimmy Miller work has been mostly crap.
Very uncool OP. I was all ready to compare Mick Taylor to the other Stones guitarists and his slinger peers from that era. Now I'm all sulky for the rest of the day. Thanks a lot, buddy

Golly, basso. I was ready to search for my comments on Taylor that I've posted here before, eager to make folks suffer through reading them again, like when I saw him at a small club in Houston playing with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. He was outstanding! But you're talking about Mick, who's been talked about to death, damn near, and some goofy chick singer. Bummer, dude.
