heck no. he's old and asik has a lot more to offer with his remaining contract. I'd rather trade Asik in his final year (when he's bound to get a better contract) than get KG-lite for one year and then subsequently broken down KG. He's already a shell of his former self- the Celtics would be going crazy if they could get Asik for KG at this point, much better trade for them.

    Prefer Josh Smith than KG.

Younger, more athletic, better for our running style.

KG is getting old and doesn't seem like the type of player that the Rockets would want. Not sure how well he'd fit chemistry wise with the team. Would prefer to develop T-Jones or D-Mo for more value.

First off I voted no on KG. I have been on record to not want DH12 but since all signs point to the Rockets getting DH12 I have come to accept it. Now I would rather keep Asik and see what playing along DH12 looks like. IF it does not pan out then I would look into trading Asik but not until the trading deadline.

Would rather trade Asik for a different PF. I highly doubt KG will perform at the same level he did this season. A year hits harder when you are 38.

I have mixed feelings about it. KG would definitely up our odds of winning it all. The only thing he's lacking is more time in the league. But I think if we're more patient with Asik, we can get more for him down the road. Also, KG is a big douche! That is all.

Just to clarify, I wasn't endorsing that move but rather showing that the Celtics (and KG, with a no-trade clause) likely would both be interested, and that's the kind of value Asik would have around the league. It's the type of situation I think you'd be looking for -- if you find the right team in transition, you can net a very good power forward.

If KG refused to go to Houston to play with Harden, Dwight, Parsons and Lin under Coach McHale and insisted on retiring or sticking around for a Boston rebuilding project, I'd be surprised.

I was surprised to see Clutch suggest KG. KG is 37 years old with high mileage. He's not going to last a year or two with high level production.

Howard is still in his prime, not to mention the youth of Harden. You want a bigger window for contention, not just a couple of years. I am sure we could get something better with Asik's value.

y'all crazy if you wouldn't take KG on this squad if Howard signed.

6'11 Garnett and 7'0 Howard would be lock down on the D, help D and dominate the boards. Garnett has an awesome mid-long range game that would really compliment the PnR game.

That's a championship frontline even with Garnett @ 36 or whatever he is. I'll take 95% of what KG was this past season--especially if all we needed him to do was hit the 19 footer on offense.

Now what happens after the following season--maybe you get Love or LMA then.

I want to start a thread on Bosh coming to the Rockets potentially. But i don't see the point so i'll say it here...

Instead of KG why not go after Chris Bosh? If we got Howard. Bosh at the 4 would be INSANE. I'm trying to figure out who we could get rid of.

Maybe Robinson, Asik, a couple picks, etc.. combination of those.

Now this is all depending on if the Heat win the championship this year.

I just think the Heat are old and will make some major moves to get younger if they lose this series. They need some big's as well.

I think there are some big moves about to happen. Huge game tonight.

Garnett is 37 freaking years old. Meanwhile, Asik will be one of the best defensive centers for the next few years.

Stupid stupid trade. This is James Dolan-style management.

I think Asik has more pull than a KG on his last legs. DeAndre makes 10 mil, emeka makes 13 mil, nene makes 13, javale makes 11, bogut makes 11.

Bierdrins makes 9 mil, Varejao makes around 8, perkins makes almost 8.

Asik was 2nd in rebounds (behind dwight) and 9th in points, ahead of the likes of deandre, emeka, javale and kendrick. I would think he also has a good defensive rep around the league as well since it was obvious that our defense sucked without him. With all that combined, I think that he would command more than KG. And to answer your question- I think the Rockets say no to that one, but the Celtics say yes right away.

That would be a completely short-sighted move. Not a fan of that.

If we get Howard, I would hold onto Asik for a year or two and use him in a LMA/Love deal. That would give Dmo & TJ time to develop or not.
