I'm just wondering why there is somebody stupid enough to bet that much on the Pacers....

Seven points is a lot to give, in a series where the Heat have covered just twice in six games

Well since you presumably like to keep things real, perhaps you can explain how many months after he retires before he goes broke...just remember that eventually the house wins...

And btw...I like how you lumped me and my family...when you have absolutely no clue who I am or my family might be...but im almost certain, that my education, my line of work will put me and my family is at a much better situation that you could ever dream of...

We know he gambles big, but he's smart to use this to keep his name out in the press for his upcoming fight with Canelo. It's a win win situation for him even if he loses on this bet.

If I had to bet, I'd say if Mayweather wins his bet, the money he wins IS likely more than you and your family would make in your respective lifetimes. Not as an insult, but because statistically, I'd be making a good bet.

Now, I wouldn't be betting $5.9 Mil on it...

once again never disagreed with the premise that Money $hits money out, but my point was very clear and direct to the poster that chose to bring my family into the discussion...

Making a bet is an entertainment spending decision. Any size bet - $1 or $6 million - is a bad decision economically since the odds are against you. Whether it's a harmful decision for him depends entirely on his income and savings rates. For a multi-billionaire, a $6m bet is nothing; for a homeless person, a $1 bet is a bad idea. Without knowing his finances, I don't think you can really judge if this is a bad decision, unless you're talking about gambling in general.

I'm calling an upset. My boy DWest is going to make noise and Lance Stephenson is due. Those are 2 players that I follow closely outside of the Rockets...I'm hoping the Pacers can beat the Heat, and the refs...let's be honest...The Pacers have to win convincingly so that David Stern's reach stays in the stand.

Not an M.D.? $6 million is a huge chunk of money, even for an MD. So why would you be offended? I'm sure most people on this board has less than that amount. So it's not like you're singled out as being poor.

not that i care...but felt the need to defend my folks...not called for...besides...just bc im a doctor doesnt mean anything...really...being a doctor isnt about making money...sure you have a nice life style...but really who cares...i just was defending myself against a poster with really poor taste of words...and an obvious mayweather nut hugger...

And "You and your family" is a direct statement towards me...and i surely dont appreciate that...

He does do charity work through his foundation.

This is what I was going to say, but I read the article and he didn't actually release his bet by posting the betting slip like he usually does after the fact. All this information is coming from an unnamed source who is apparently reliable.

Lol, either me or money Mayweather is going to win tonight, because I'm on the Pacers +7. But damn, that's an over $5.3 million payout if Miami covers that -7 point spread.
