A kid's dropped cymbal makes him turn patriotic.

Is it a FAIL or a Patriotic WIN?

    <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/opiMHTaUEaA?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/opiMHTaUEaA?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    WIN, I say.
At first I was all " Pick it up, man!" But when he turned and saluted, I said "WIN. I shall salute in my office watching the video, too. "

Demerits for the girl who couldn't stop laughing during a performance. Shame on you.

why is that "patriotic"? he's just doing what he's supposed to do during the Star spangled banner.

It wasn't like him dropping the cymbal was dramatic like him throwing it across the room. He could of very easily just picked it up and continued. At least he saluted instead of pissing himself out of nervousness.

I played the viola in a quartet in 8th grade with some other kids from my orchestra for a national anthem before a Scout meeting, then they had a guest cop that talked about crime and gang violence. He had to edit one of the letters in the acronym for a local gang, UNLV.

The next week as a reward we got a mini-pizza party in a closet in the classroom.

The kid screwed up, it's funny how differently they process mistakes in the midst of a task: stop everything, wait for punishment.

As an former orchestral cymbal player, looks like the knot in the cymbal strap broke or got undone.. hence, the moments of hesitation of what to do. Anthem would have been finished by the time he knotted that puppy back up.

That's a fail. From the reaction to the awkward salute. Fail. Poor kid.

I never played, but I agree. He couldn't have "just picked it up", or else he would have.

I agree the girl seemed to relish her bandmate's misfortune, on the other
hand kudos for the little drummer boy for keeping his composure!

    Because of his age I think it's a Win....

I say its was a win, since he did something, instead of and just stand there, or starting to cry or something else more embarrasing.

    Fail.
He made an already awkward situation cringe-worthy.
