http://oversight.house.gov/release/...-irs-conference-spending-hearing-on-cnn-sotu/ Why hasn't Obama fired the employees who targeted conservative groups if they did it of their own initiative?
Trey Hardin at ABC News Radio Goes to Administration with IRS Scandal Hardin is an analyst for ABC News: Trey Hardin: “I will tell you this on the IRS front. I’ve worked in this town for over 20 years in the White House and on Capitol Hill and I can say with a very strong sense of certainty that there are people very close to this president that not only knew what the IRS were doing but authorized it. It simply just does not happen at an agency level like that without political advisers likely in the West Wing certainly connected to the president’s ongoing campaign organization.
Not very professional or ethical for a news analyst to make such a proclamation without proof. [edit] Ah now I see why, Hardin is a paid wingnut shill. Now it makes sense Hardin before the 2012 election Before his election in 2008, Barack Obama had minimal political experience, zero governing experience, and three uneventful years as a U.S. Senator. But he was the “one” whose presidential candidacy carried a “rock star-like” aura and who was supposed to be the exception to the rule, right? At least that is what the Democrat Party bosses who gave him the nomination thought. Barack Obama was simply not ready to be president and he clearly has not learned lessons along the way to be ready for four more years. The examples of ineptitude, suspect decision-making and lack of leadership are plentiful. Since his inauguration he has been way in over his head and seemingly paralyzed by the executive powers bestowed to him. This has resonated with many in his own party and, more importantly, with many of his 2008 voters who are feeling some buyer’s remorse. Unlike 2008, the 2012 election will not be a popularity contest or about who is the best public speaker. The American people are done with that. This election is about the economy, Obama’s body of work, and who is the person most fit to lead this nation going forward. If the president loses reelection this fall, the Democrat Party will only have itself to blame for choosing the wrong nominee four years ago.
Cleta Mitchell, one of Washington's most respected elections attorneys, said that she had "tangible proof that high-ranking IRS officials in Washington were fully aware of the agency's campaign to target conservative groups for heightened scrutiny, despite their denials." She also believes the president knew about the practice. http://www.examiner.com/article/abc-political-analyst-irs-scandal-emanates-from-the-white-house
In fact, the Treasury Inspector General’s report notes that 10 of 12 IRS offices involved in the dubious practices are in Washington.
I love how all of these conservatives are calling the administration liars but can't bring forth one shred of evidence. If Ms. Mitchell has "tangible” evidence she should produce it. And seriously Bobby, lay off the Newsmax if you want to be taken seriously around here.
Probably because Presidents generally don't micromanage the entire Executive Department - they generally have more important things to do. And unlike with the political appointees, within the Civil Service system, there are probably long procedures to follow and deal with.
or Obama is in on it, is another theory. If they were "fired" . I guarantee more whistleblowers would come out if they weren't getting a paycheck.
The IG of the Treasury department and the new acting commissioner of the IRS have no idea who instituted the list, but don't worry everyone; mark knows it was someone low-level. His sources tell him so. <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jyGy8UgpVYU" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe> I love how IRS employees can just not answer the IG's questions and keep their jobs. Remember when Bush ordered all federal employees to comply with the Plame investigation?
How do you know we discussed the Plame affair around here? It's almost like you were here with us. Could it be you were posting as someone else at that time? hum????
Joseph Curl Joseph Curl is an American writer and political columnist for The Washington Times. The website MediaBistro.com has speculated that Curl also works for the Drudge Report. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Curl
Ooh...whistleblower! It says on his twitter account that he is the editor of Drudgereport. That's ok, you keep thinking that MSNBC is legitimate news. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/03/b...litics-msnbc-slips-on-breaking-news.html?_r=0 http://twitchy.com/2013/06/03/msnbc...-new-slogan-were-not-the-place-breaking-news/
That news is actually on more outlets. I don't even know who Joseph Curl is and I saw the same report on the local Cincinnati news that the story is falling apart.
Treasury IG Calls IRS Scandal “Unprecedented,” Compares It To Nixon… Russell George gets audited by the IRS in 3… 2… 1. Via The Hill: The Treasury Inspector General who uncovered the improper targeting of Tea Party groups by the Internal Revenue Service said Monday he was stunned by what his investigation uncovered. Russell George, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), said the targeting at the IRS his probe discovered was “unprecedented,” and the closest comparison that came to mind was the targeting of political enemies by the administration of Richard Nixon. “During the Nixon administration, there were attempts to use the Internal Revenue Services in manners that might be comparable in terms of misusing it. I’m not saying the actions taken here are comparable,” he told a House Appropriations subcommittee. “This is unprecedented.” Keep reading… http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-mon...inspector-general-irs-targeting-unprecedented
House GOP Threatens To Make IRS Funding Conditional On Agency Coming Clean In Conservative Targeting Scandal… Sounds good to me. Via The Hill: GOP appropriators on Monday said they would use the IRS’s purse strings to get answers about how and why it targeted conservative groups. House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) said his panel may impose conditions on IRS funding, calling the targeting tantamount to a political enemies list that hearkens back to “a dark page in our past.” Other Republicans on the panel wondered how the IRS, in the words of Rep. Ander Crenshaw, “should spend one more dime” on the agency without having more answers on how the IRS is currently operating “We will not rest until this is done,” Rogers told Danny Werfel, the acting IRS chief, at an Appropriations subcommittee hearing on Monday. “And I don’t need to remind you or anybody else that the power of the purse rests with the Congress, and we’re prepared to use that purse to get to the truth.” http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-mon...-use-power-of-purse-against-irs#ixzz2VCIS20Rm
It's hard to claim there was a scandal against conservative groups when not one single conservative group being talked about here were denied the status they were applying for. It's doubly hard when there is no evidence that anything that happened was under orders from the white house.
This is simply crazy. Shuttering the entity that empowers the funding of our entire government would be disasterous. This, along with the sequester, would assure everybody that those in charge no longer have any real worries whether the government continues operating or not.
where did they say they wanted to shut down the IRS? I read it as it's time to clean house and now that the IRS wants to play dumb, money is the only way you can get these people to talk. An entity that controls our money should not be put in the hands of people who have no accountability or responsibility or works in secrecy for their own agendas
