WHAT A GAME. My heart was pounding in the 3rd period and OT. From so many highs and so many lows, I'm just glad that was the last time we play Detroit in the playoffs (aside from a Stanley Cup Final). Those guys are a tough out, even when they're undermanned. Now comes one of the hardest tests of all. I expect this to be a great series. Quick has been a monster, similar to last year.
Last 4 champs still doin work. Doesn't matter what combination we get for the SCF now. All 4 teams would make a great SCF.
I would definitely like Chicago to take out LA. Forget LA, in every way possible. The East, meh it's all good.
Really liked Crawford after the initial mistake he made in the 1st in giving up that goal. Great 2nd period for the Hawks. I didn't like the 3rd period, that may give LA a little momentum and something to build on going into Game 2 tomorrow. Saw a little chatter on twitter about that Bolland hit at the end of the game being a suspend-able offense. I personally don't think so because he wasn't targeting the head of Richards, nor was he fully off the ground when initial contact was made. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rJpn7QT4plY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
^ Kinda funny, given your reaction to the Torres situation. I don't think this is a suspension offense. The guy deserves to be in the box for getting a little wild with his arms though. It looks like he saw he was going to miss most of the hit and tried to make some contact towards the end. Happens all the time. Penalty, no suspension to me. Especially not in the playoffs.
I think it's definitely suspend-able given other players who have been suspended for less. I think it was a charging penalty for sure and he should've been in the box for that. I honestly wont be surprised if he does get suspended though because players have gotten suspended for less. This may have been a little bit harder hit than Torres' hit against LA earlier, but I think part of the reason why he got suspended was because of his reputation. Either way, if Bolland isn't there, I don't think it'll hurt the Hawks too much.
The fact that Matt Cooke doesn't get suspended more often is proof, to me, that the league isn't consistent about their reviews, haha.
I knew the Kings' hopes were dashed when Detroit screwed that series. Our anemic offense has finally caught up to us. We got away with it last year up till now, but you can't beat a team like the Hawks if you can't outscore them when need be.
Great game by the Hawks. Crawford played well as he has been all playoffs. Scoring from all around. Never seen Quick get lit up like that but he also didn't have any help in front of him tonight. Would like to see Kane score at some point though. The toughest games coming up are games 3 and 4 now. If the Hawks can take one of those two then I'll be really optimistic. I'm not going to call anything regarding the series because we've seen the Kings come back from 0-2 in the 1st round against St. Louis in a similar situation. Richards not being there probably didn't help their case on the offensive end either. But I'm expecting the Kings to give it their all in game 3 regardless of who's on the ice. I did like Crawford sticking up for Toews here. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/54SfoBgn65A?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Really surprised with the way Pittsburgh has played offensively at home so far (part of that has to do with Boston's defense). Boston is really looking dangerous, that defense is crazy good to be able to keep an offense like Pittsburgh to 1 goal in 2 games on the road. Pittsburgh's defense and goaltending is poor.
The pens have no defense what's so ever. Just about all those goals were sick shots, shots that should never have happened if they had average defense.
Dirty play by Keith in that 2nd period. I was surprised the Kings didn't get a goal out of it with the double minor penalty.
People are puzzled around these parts. Bylsma hasn't announced yet who's starting in goal for tonight so I'll pose the question to everybody here: who would you start for Game 3?
