I am really hoping to see that. I was really shocked when people said that it was offensive. I thought it was a common juvenile joke. Didn't think anyone would think it was offensive
dudes, it's only homo if you kiss or look into the other dudes eyes. did you guys not watch oz growing up? :smh:
I'm straight. I've heard the joke all the time from friends. Never even crossed my mind that some people would think it's a major slur.
The fact that this is even news shows our world is in a down spiral. People can't even say they disagree with something they find wrong. Talk about reverse discrimination. Who are the close minded people in this situation
People are overtly sensitive and frightened of anything that would offend anyone else, even if they have to speak on their behalf. I really don't like that aspect of present society; it's natural for people that are close to break each others balls. What Roy did was not right because of the professional context and environment he was in, but it was not homophobic or whatever negative terms the media can muster up. The media is a sensationalist joke.
I can't believe that Hibbert is apologising for that. From a libertarian point of view, it seems OK that one should not discriminate against other people based on their sexual orientation but to now have the obligation not to criticize such behaviour and to instead positively affirm it? Utter bull****! The Canadian style "Hate Laws" are next and along with them the associated kangaroo courts. Guess Mark Steyn will have to seek refuge in yet another country. I am very grateful that I don't live in the US.
This is not a big deal. But Hibbert should have known better to say this on live TV with hundreds of thousands of people watching. Its one thing if you are with friends. Its another thing when you're in the public eye.
The only thing offensive to me about the comment is the immaturity. You're a professional millionaire, you ain't a high school kid trying to sound cool taking lil Wayne's lyrics seriously. He didn't mean to offend gay people seriously.
acceptable no homo moment.. ho chen video on csn about the linsanity burger... "wow this is huge, will it fit in my mouth, (pause)" --------------------------- unnacceptable no homo moment.. "Damn Wade is sexy in yellow,No homo" - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7168639&postcount=2
That word is seen a slur towards gays just like there are words that are slurs towards various races. It is irrelevant as to the context it was used in. Would it be acceptable for a gay waiter to say that Hibbard left a "n-word"ly tip?
