at one time the pause/no homo thing was funny. when folks catch themselves saying suspect stuff on accident and being like "no homo".. but then folks started saying extra gay **** and trying to justify it with no homo.. like dude in that one thread that said wade looked sexy in the yellow jacket and said no homo.. like it was cool to call a man sexy and it not be homo...

I'm sure this stuff is being thrown in the locker room all the time - Hibbert probably didn't mean for it to be derogatory.

Although, even if it might offend a slight amount of people, they should probably not say it in the first place.

First the no homo, then the swear word. He should have composed himself better.

While I'll try not to go into full rant mode, I think this is another way by "them" to attack someone who's words weren't necessarily in support if that lifestyle. The man said no homo and now he's responsible for kids "slitting they're wrist" & "shooting themselves". Tradegies are never good, but is it necessary to mention it when a NBA player says"no homo". Smh

I was about to post something about that. Can't believe no one else but you noticed it. It reeked of "Trying too much" or "Trying to be funny/tough etc" imo.

Both the "mfers" and "nohomo" comment. Seemed forced by him, like he'd given it thought and wanted to find a way to add those words into his post game intvw. Maybe a team joke kinda thing, or maybe he just decided to, either way it didn't come out natural the way he said both.

I can understand why people(the pc crowd/anti-anti gay crowd) would be offended but it came off as more immature than malicious and a fine is more likely than anything.

He knew EXACTLY what he was saying when he said mFkers. Even said he knew he'd be fined for saying that. Basically just wasnt delicate about how the media give fk all recognition to the Pacers..

Do gays actually feel offended by no homo. I never thought that phrase as derogatory towards gay people.

We praise players 'coming out of the closet', but players who use a joke meme get fined? Seems double standardish to me. It also didn't seem forced, it seemed as if he does that often.

They need to loosen up and realize that it wasn't even a bash at gay people.

I always thought it was stupid. How insecure do you have to be? I mean, if you are not talking about something gay, whats the worry? My friends would say it all the time and I'm like "it's cool man, I don't think you're that gay" because 99.9 percent of the time i don't even notice it until "no homo" is said.

Honestly, I thought it was pretty homo to say "no homo" because that obviously means you are thinking of something very homo because out of something that is not.

"Like its fine I don't really find it offen-"

"No, like I don't find it offensive Hibbert was just trying to be playful-"
    "PLAYFUL!? THATS SO GAY"

I remember when Ron Arrest was on the radio show," No layouts" and educated us on the proper usage of pause and no homo.

Till then I had no idea such terms existed.

All he had to do was say he was talking about Homo Habilis and there wouldn't be an issue.

I don't think it's that offensive, just juvenile. If I hear someone say "no homo" I just think it screams insecurity and immaturity. I hadn't heard that phrase used since early high school.

If Roy Hibbert has to apologize to Jason Collins for saying "no homo," then doesn't he have to apologize to Delonte West for calling the reporters "mother****ers?"
