SEVEN-TIME NBA ALL-STAR GRANT HILL RETIRES The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that seven-time NBA All-Star Grant Hill will retire after 19 seasons. For more than two decades, Hill, 40, has been one of the most recognizable basketball players in the world, highlighted by a standout collegiate career at Duke, an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 1996 Olympics and an illustrious NBA career that saw him earn five All-NBA honors and the 1994-95 Co-Rookie of the Year Award.

Derrick Rose and others owe a debt of gratitude for Hill as the poster-child of what happens when rushing back from injury.
Makes me feel so old now. Dude was given doctors orders not to play due to his injuries and he played another 9 years. Incredible and one class act the NBA will miss.
For you youngsters, in his second and third years with the Detroit Pistons, Grant Hill was averaging: 21 PTS 48% FG 9.5 REB 7 AST 1.5 STL The way he played was beautiful and he would have had one hell of a career if not for his injury.
The way I see it, Grant Hill is a big part of the reason why Derrick Rose isn't rushing back. Hill succumbed to the pressure of fans, media, etc. and came back way too early from his injury. He would be one of the greatest if not for that injury.
Hill's one of my all-time favorite player because of his versatility and the way he carried himself. He could have been a hall of famer if not for the injury.
I think Hill is a bit dated of a reference for someone like Rose to remember- Gilbert Arenas is the poster child of coming back too soon these days. Agent Zero just fell off entirely
