When I heard anti-war people criticize the Bush Administration for "neglecting" N. Korea, I always thought to myself "Beware what you wish for". Now that Sadam is almost certainly a goner, I present you a set of choices.
N. Korea has nothing to lose should things go sour. Going to war would be devasting to the Pacific Rim, and have many long term consequences in that region. And our current skills at diplomacy won't defray the blame the Asain people would lay on us.
Make no mistake, if we get in a fight with North Korea, we get in a war with China. I don't care what the Chinese say they're going to do, they will not accept an American invasion on one of their borders.
Actually the only thing America can do right now is to THREATEN to nuclearize Japan (something the Japanese can do in three months on their own). This threat might prompt a Chinese invasion of NORTH Korea, aka. Afghanistan '79.
i thought u are chinese, n u love ur fellow chinese peoples in china, and u actually want n think its good for jap to nuclearize, u want china to n chinese to go to war , alot of chinese will die in war, u think if china go to war n a nuclearlize japan will make chinese people live better?! that is why i say u are very funny.........
I let you choose: a nuclearized N. Korea or a nuclearized Japan, which one is safer to China and the world? The N. Korean problem was created by China and the USSR. It is time for China to clean up this festering hole on its side.
Does Japan have a real military, or are they still heald in check because of WWII? You'd think that as close as we are now, it would be to our benefit for them to build up a strong military. Can somebody clear this up for me?
i am only pointing out the true color of u, yeah right , u care about chinese peoples, my ass!!! what u said already show if u really care about chinese peoples or not, which u dunt!
I think the Japanese sent some peacekeepers in the last UN mission. I wish I knew which one for sure.
Japan can only spend 1% of its GNP on defense. But because of the size of its economy, its military (officially the Self-Defense Force) is small but highly formidable. It has perhaps the best navy in Asia (no surprise there), ranked in the world perhaps only after the US and UK. America being the only country that used a nuke in combat and Japan being the only country that got it, I don't think it is a very good option to nuclearize Japan. But as I said, a nuclear N. Korea or a nuclear Japan, take your poison.
I'm just asking because my knowledge of the Japanese military is limited to watching them get owned by Godzilla. Yet they have some interesting weapons, like big ass trucks that shoot lightning, fighter planes that shoot fire works, and secret super planes that look as about aerodynamic as my butt.
I'm a bit unclear on how nuclearizing Japan would help us. You mind explaining it to me? Why would China then find it necessary to invade N. Korea?
