Mirage was the original 5-star hotel on the Strip. It came around the late 80's/early 90's i think, so its dated but still a very nice hotel. Caesar's is pretty nice too.

Going too cheap and staying at Treasure Island/Circus Circus is a mistake; those places just make you feel cheap whenever you go back to your hotel. Ruins the hi-roller Vegas feel. I stayed at the Vdara in CityCentre and those accommodations definitely added to the Vegas experience. I don't think I've ever stayed at a nicer hotel. On any other trip, I'm content with a La Quinta or Hampton inn.

To be fair, there is a huge difference between Treasure Island and Circus Circus. There is no way in hell I would ever stay at Circus Circus, but Treasure Island is not a dump and is better in my opinion than some of Ceasars properties.

Treasure Island isn't in an ideal location, it doesn't have a very good pool, and it doesn't have a hot night club, but it's not a dump. TI is next door to a mall if you want to shop, it also has some nice neighbors in The Mirage, Wynn, and The Venetian. Circus Circus on the other hand is infested with kids and is close to nothing except The Riviera and Slots A' Fun. No thank you to that.

I've had really good experiences at Caesars recently and gotten some decent rooms at MGM as well for cheap. MGM is close enough to everything on the strip but is a huge place. Caesars has everything in there. You could stay there and if you wanted to, you wouldn't really have to leave the place. But if you did want to, it's close to almost everything.

Caesar's prices are jacked up on that weekend. And while it's a 4 star property, it's rooms vary from 2 stars to 4 stars (unofficial Kim ratings btw). And to be fair, all prices will be jacked up, and I'm assuming you're not going to get a huge player's discount.

Mirage has done a remodel, so I'd go there if I can get a good deal, then Caesar's. If you can get a decent price for an Augustus or Octavius Tower room...or maybe Palace too (avoid Roman), then going there will be just fine.

I'll check prices in a bit.

For Arrival July 3rd and Departure July 6th

Mirage's current best deal for any regular non player that I could find:
    https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/...EEMB&show=rates&kbid=1162904&sub=0!N!MIRSEEMB
Book Your Summer Escape Now and Receive:
    -20% Off Room Rates
    -25% Off Cravings Buffet!
-$3 Off Admission to Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat
-Buy One, Get One Free to Private Oasis (Sun – Wed only)
    Offer Code: MIRSEEMB
    Resort King $344 + tax and fees = $469.28
    Resort Queens $368 + tax and fees = $496.16

    Caesar's Palace
    Insiders Rate: https://www.totalrewards.com/reserv...kagecode=ICFFP&offercode=&___=&tripcode=ICFFP
    Friends and Family: https://www.totalrewards.com/reserv...kagecode=ICFNF&offercode=&___=&tripcode=ICFNF
low range - NOBU Deluxe King $547 + tax and fees = $696.64
high range - Octavius Deluxe Queens $765 + tax and fees = $940.80
You can get lower by staying in the Forum and Roman towers, but it's nicer to stay in the Augustus, Octavius, or Nobu towers.

    Cosmopolitan
    Terrace Studio Premium View - $970 + tax and fees = $1,170.40
    Terrace Suite - $1,120 + tax and fees = $1,338.20

My recommendation is to go with Cosmo. Yes, it's more than double the cheapest of your options. Yes, they comp you boloney compared to other Players Club (seriously, you can drop thousands in theoretical loss and they'll give you like a buffet pass). The thing is, there's no view like the Cosmo's view. That outdoor terrace overlooking the Bellagio fountains and going north up the strip is something that cannot be matched at any other property. Whether you use it for reading, having a meal, a drink, banging, or just relaxing...it's all worth it.

Just myself and my friend. I'm meeting her there. She has some national collegiate floral design competition taking place before I show up. Yeah I heard good things about the T Vdara.

Actually going to be there 4 nights now, going a night earlier. My mom is my travel agent, and is amazing at it. If it wasn't a dead profession, it's really what she should be. She booked Caesar's Palace without even discussing it with me. haha She found a pretty good deal for $437 for 4 nights. Much cheaper than anything I was finding for that week/weekend. Not sure which tower. Since she's paying for practically the whole trip, I can't complain. I like that it's close to City Center and pretty centrally located.

I've stayed at Hard Rock and Bellagio before, and this won't be the last time I go to Vegas. Many times to have a more lavish hotel experience in the future. I'm excited.

    Thanks for the input everyone

    This.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much they have improved this hotel/casino when I was there last month.

    Would stay again.

Second choice would be The Mirage. A bit dated but still a very nice place to stay, fairly easy on the wallet and central to everything.

Cosmo, Aria, Vdara, Wynn, and Encore would be the places I would look at.

I really want to stay at The Cosmo, but I'm having a hard time justifying the $300 premium I would pay over my current reservation at Aria for Labor Day weekend. Does anyone have any insight into how these two compare and if it is worth it? I stayed at Encore last time I was there, so I want to try something on the other side of the strip.

The Cosmo is just the center of the Vegas universe nowadays. Top 4 nightclub (Marquee) top 4 dayclub (Marquee), great restaurants and bars, and the best balcony views in town. Staying at the Aria actually is right next door. Those are the 2 newest Vegas casino/resorts, but their philosophies are very different. Aria is a like a giant cave that wants to trap you in, 12 minutes to exit either way. Cosmo has signs pointing to neighboring competing properties and is closest to Las Vegas Blvd sidewalks of any casino.

Unless you have a burning desire to read/bang/chill/eat on a balcony overlooking the Vegas skyline, then I don't think the $300 premium is worth it. The Aria rooms are just as nicely appointed. Aria is actually better in terms of quality rooms imo...you just can't beat Cosmo's view.

Surprisingly, Hooters Hotel isn't too bad (stayed there one night in between our move out there) and is very very affordable.

Plus it's near the new strip rather than old strip.

    -Stay on the strip
-Don't stay longer than 3 days
-Do take advantage of Limo services for free (taxis are $$$$)
-Rent a car if you can (if you dont want to walk the strip)
-Bring more money than you anticipate on spending, Vegas is that expensive.
-Never buy insurance from a dealer (Blackjack)
-There is no sex in the champagne room (VIP room)
