I'd use Reggie Evans a lot in this matchup. He's capable defensively in the post. Especially for some like Blatche. The rotate young down to the 4 and have Shumpert guard Lebron from the perimeter. Don't forget how raw Drummond is defensively. He doesn't have very good interior defense or shooting
Jvu 4:1 YSL RedN 2:2 Jamers Donatas 5:1 thething Vbg 6:0 Spooner 4:2 LCAmeh Tizzle 4:1 Jmc 4:1 RR14 Might've made a mistake.. Did it on my phone. Pretty much btwn Jamers vs redN currently in game 5 c'mon!
Maloe has Deng. Deng guards the best perimeter player. Melo would be the best perimeter player on the team that has Melo. So, Deng guards Melo.
Jvu 4:1 YSL RedN 2:2 Jamers Donatas 5:1 thething Vbg 6:0 Spooner 4:2 LCAmeh Tizzle 4:1 Jmc 4:1 RR14 BigM 5:0 Vote!
JVU. No way Robinson stays in front of Wall. Courtney Lee and Battier defense to slow down Pierce. I'd take Ray Allen over Derozen. Garnett outplays West. Amare at center actually plays to Jonas' strength. Both would score on each other. I was choosing RedNation, but after writing my review I've changed my mind to Jamers. If I were Jamers I might start Haslem in this matchup. Nation's frontline would cause problems. I think Jamers could play Wallace on Monroe. That would even out the frontline. Then you have Harris on Korver. I'd give the advantage to Harris. Knight can stop penetration so Korver is less needed on offense with limited penetration. Plus Noah is in the middle. I'd take Johnson over Smith as well. Jamers team has better pacing and overall defense. If I were Donata's I'd be a little worried about penetration. Hawes can bring Lopez out to the three point line. Either play Bass on him, or start Udoh in place of Bass. I also might start Chalmers, so that Williams and Ellis could stay in check. Lou is a very poor defender. Thing has MKG to guard Wade which helps, but I think Lopez is the key to this win for Donatas and too much for the thing's frontcourt. Bad matchup for Horry. The backcourt goe's slightly to Horry. Rondo will do his thing, and contain Irving to an extent. Bradley will contain Beal. I don't like Rudy Gay at all. Jimmy Butler could get physical with him on the perimeter. Horry's downfall is Bargnani-Anderson frontcourt. That's just not gonna get it done. Nene and Sullinger will out rebound them and be too much inside for Horry to get the win IMO. I can see it going both ways however, Sullinger would have to chase Bargnani around the court. Still I gotta go with VBG, but really close call. BigMaloe wins easily. Deng on Melo and Chandler in the middle dominates Henson. No one else on latebloomer's team can score. Felton over Kidd and Young over Waiters. Illyasova makes Gibson play out of position. Easy win. Yung-T. Barley. I think Lowry has a big advantage in this matchup, and I like Terry off the bench, spacing is a little bit of a problem. Lowry is the only one in the starting 5 who can consistently hit a 3.I think Hibbert is way too strong for Sanders at this point. Boozer is still solid enough defensively to play against a finess bosh. Wierd matchup as both 3's cant shoot. I like Reddick over Terry and Henderson. Still, Hibbert wins this for T. If Oelman had picked Varajao over Sanders, we might have a different story. JMC Baller. Hill isn't really the type to blow up Calderon, and even still he has Harris waiting on the bench. Stephenson and Gee are a wash. I think JMC could run into problems with Green, Smith. However Thompson has proven to be a solid defender. Matches up with Smith quite nicely. Paul George is Paul George. I think he'd be slowed down by Smith, but not even Lebron completely stops Paul George. Vucavic barely over Okafor right now. Comes down to Jmc having the best player, and a playmaker at point guard.
I lost 6-0 against VBG? I know you guys don't want me winning the east too but come on 6-0? I have the best player, Avery Bradley is better defender than Jimmy Butler is, I have the better post defender, he has Copeland as his backup big.....should I continue with reasons why his team wasn't better?
For the guys(spooner, lookin at you breh) that say Turner can't shoot, he was 36.5% from 3pt land this season while taking 1.9 per game.
ok, i'm decided on: Jvu. I think John Wall will cause problems here. He's facing a weak-ish backcourt defense (Bellineli is the only one i'd call average defensively) and no rim protection. VBG. I think VBG matches up very well both defensively and offensively vs. Horry's team. Yung-T. Hibbert hasn't had a great offensive season overall, and we are supposed to judge based on that. That said, more often than not, Larry Sanders gets destroyed by true centers with offensive post game. So this is a solid matchup for Hibbert. Jmc. A defensive team (RR14) vs. and offensive team (Jmc). I think Jmc simply has more talent. His offense is very balanced and not easily slowed down. undecided: RedNation-Jamers. I think Rednation has a bunch of talent but also some fit problems. There's not much rim protection, perimeter defense and I'm not sure that Varejao spaces the floor for Monroe's post game well enough. Varejao can hit a jumper but no one is too scared of him taking those shots. And there are chuck brothers in the backcourt. That said, Monroe/Varejao is still an awesome frontcourt. Monroe had a solid season despite getting double teamed all the time, and Varejao would clean up the boards on a lot of the misses, allowing more chucking. So overall it looks like an ugly offense but a solid offense nonetheless. Defense=shaky. Jamers has a team that fits together better but IMO less talent. Offensively, i'm not sure that Johnson/Knight are good enough to take over this series -- which they have to do, they are the most dangerous offensive players for Jamers. Maloe-latebloomer. Whichever team makes more long jumpers. Tough to call. Spooner-LCAhmed. Not much rim protection on Spooner's side, and no elite perimeter defender to match up with LeBron. But overall, he has the better defensive team and he can defend everyone else very well. Offensively, these teams look comparable. I guess offensively I'd give an edge to LCAhmed because Spooner lacks a reliable secondary playmaker. If LeBron focuses on Holiday, that offense will have issues because no one else on that roster is great at creating a shot for himself or others. Well, Teague of course. Maybe a Teague-Holiday lineup? Could work.
Lou Williams is not a very poor defender. He's just not a SG. He's quick but he's tiny. Defensively, he's even very good vs. little guys, one of the best at sticking to point guards on pick and roll. He did very well in Philly when he was in the backcourt with Jrue Holiday --- because Jrue can guard SGs. But put Lou at SG, it's a problem due to size. However, i agree that he likely can't guard Deron Williams in this matchup. Deron is too big and too strong. Not so sure that he can't guard Monta, however. Lou is quick enough to stay with Monta.
