Wonderful place!! I've been there several times while at St. Edward's in Austin (mostly the South Lamar location).
It's as good as any other wing place imo. What I do hate is how bad Rudy's is in Houston. Rudy's BBQ is Austin is pretty solid imo...in Houston complete dog ****.
+1 to rudys @Austin. I like that I can eat a boatload without feeling too greasy and bloated. Pluckers is decent, but you have to like deep fried wings. Sometimes it tastes like it's double fried. They deep fry every one of them, then they add the seasoning.
Went there probably a total of 10 times while I lived in Austin over the last 2 years, to multiple locations (including west campus). I thought it was average at best. Was never really impressed by any of my meals there. BW3's is clearly better in my opinion. How about Plucker's stays in Austin and Hopdoddy opens in Houston instead?
Well they have a good drink menu and do events on certain nights; trivia & bingo. Food is much better, and they've been a long time customer with the company I work for so I'm excited for them to move to the H. While I was in the hill country they were one of the few places that would have the texans on when the cowgirls were playing also.
This. Pluckers is very good and the prices aren't bad at all. I rarely go to the one in Round Rock any more because it's always jam packed and a wait of no less than 30 minutes. Plus, I still prefer Wings N More...despite the fact that they won't show anything else on tv when there's anything aggie on. Astros playoff game (obviously years ago) vs. A&M football game vs. Colorado in which they were losing 41-3 at half time and the local supporters club had left? A&M game wins. BWW is ok. Wingstop is complete s***.
I like Wings and More. By far my favorite. The only fast food wing I bother getting really. I'm not sure they exist in Houston anymore though, the locations I know seem to have changed into BreWings.
Buffalo Wild Wings sucks, doesn't even deserve to be in the conversation. The wings are just sub par to both Pluckers and Wingstop and the atmosphere at Pluckers is better to go for a game or hang out. Maybe that is just Austin, but Buffalo Wild Wings is always dead here. Seriously, I have no idea how they stay open cause no is ever at any of them. Now I would say Wingstop wings are decent, but they are tiny and you never go there to hang out for a beer. It is basically a pick up and go spot. I absolutely love Pluckers, the wings are bigger than either Wingstop or BW and the sides are better than BW easily. Mac and cheese, fries, potatoe fries pretty much anyside trumps the sides at BW, I do enjoy the fries at Wingstop though. Pluckers also has a member card for $20 bucks. At the time of purchase you get a free app and it is 10% off for life. You also get a free app or desert, depending on the promotion at the time whenever you purchase 2 entrees for life. Pluckers also has pretty good drink specials most nights and the pluckers lemonade is rather tasty. It is a freakin wing joint, not sure how it can be overrated, it is what it is. Service can be spotty some times, but I attribute that to how busy they stay, they are always busy at night. I feel like a spokes person for Pluckers. I am actually going there for lunch today, its been almost an entire month since my last bite of wings.
Overrated. Only reason people talk about it is UT students go there because it's one of the "spots" that they go to just based on the location and the free wings they get at football games.
The one I go to is in N. Austin. I have fond memories of visiting friends in College Station and starting the night off filling up on wings there.
